The park offers multiple ball diamonds, soccer fields, disc golf, actual golf, tennis courts, several nice playground areas and a couple of walking trails through very pretty areas like the Oriental Garden and the Rose Garden. The rose garden was not yet in bloom, but it's usually very pretty in the summer. It's worth a visit, but like most parks, it is always a work in progress. While the Oriental Garden area is lovely and the waterfall was going (which is gorgeous) it's a shame to see all of the little red bridges covered in chipped and peeling paint. Plastic shopping bags were hanging in tree branches nearby, and I picked up a couple of weathered bottles and energy drink cans scattered about, which is terrible because there are plenty of trash receptacles around. Sadly, the Muenstermann Building is in similar shape, with lots of peeling paint, rotted lower portions of siding, stains from weed eating, and actual holes in the siding in some spots. I'm sure it's not cheap to maintain it all, but these areas are long overdue for maintenance. The natural areas of the park are still gorgeous, peaceful and overall enjoyable. The bridge across the lake is still closed due to being in disrepair for years now. I hope to see that restored one day. It was a great feature that I have many fond memories of, and it was a scenic shortcut to the other area...
Read moreGordon Moore Park is an excellent place for anyone to visit. It is beautiful and very well maintained. It has a golf course, a baseball diamond, tennis courts, several soccer fields and a football field. There is a beautiful rose garden, a gazebo at the pond with little bridges and babbling brooks. For the children, there are at least 5 playgrounds. The newest one is perfect for people with young children, as it has a soft ground covering, lessening the chance of injuries. If you're into walking, there are several beautiful walking paths with benches placed for a short rest. There is also fishing allowed, although I don't know much about the rules for that, as I've never done it. This park is an all around perfect park for this community. I highly recommend a...
Read moreI fished at Gordon f more park for many years and it has much good fishing, but back in 2003 my most worse experience was when I went across the dam and sat where most catfishermen do I got tons of ticks all over me and I didn't even feel them crawling up my legs I mean I had them put their legs deep in my skin and I must of pulled and burned off about 15 off me, I was lucky to not get lime tick illnesses, I hope they spray for them now on a consistent basis and I am here to tell you people that it is a very good place to fish among other things but that day just freaked me out. I will how ever go back and give it another chance. Good blue Gill population and catfish are there and the bass are in the lake but hard to catch. Pass my bad day most days...
