We swung by during off hours and the owner was there doing some odds and ends. She is an extremely kind and friendly person and was nice enough to give us a quick walkthrough and info. It's obvious that this is a project of love for her and her family and the building is simply beautiful on the outside.
The inside is a work in progress but it is definitely worth going inside if you're able to. Just during our quick visit we had a couple of "events" that gave us a hair raising.
The property outside of the building is also amazing and just walking through the grounds you get a small taste of an older time that many people want to touch and experience.

Mcpike mansion was really cool as far as the outside is concerned. It was not actually open when I was there, but I called the owner, she was super nice and gave permission to take some photos. If I am in the area for a bit longer I plan to schedule a tour of the inside. I would like to know a bit of its history, its definitely got a few spirits wandering about property. I wouldn't jump to say haunted because I haven't been inside and the feel from outdoors may not have been an accurate account of all the happenings, but it's got a feeling as if you aren't there alone and haunted seems so derogatory of a term. It saddens me every time I drive by this place. It’s an amazing house not to mention the history and haunting. Unfortunately it continues to fall further and further in to disrepair. The trees surrounding the property are overgrown in some places. Dead in others. I have worked in and around the construction and remodeling industry for 22 years. I know how much work and materials cost. The current owners don’t have the resources to properly restore this house. One thing that doesn’t cost money is to simply clean the property up but the opposite seems to be happening there.
