Camped at Blue Lake the past 3 days & it was beautiful. We were the only ones in a really nice campground with tons of spaces. There are no electric/water hook ups, but it was awesome in our camper with all the comforts of home. The ranger told us it gets crowded after school gets out (it's 5/15/19) & on the traditional big weekends, but you can almost always find a place. Is off Hwy 395 at Likely, Ca.    Read moreNice little stop to check out some migratory birds like Mallard, Brewers Blackbird, Red Winged Blackbird, Western Meadowlark, Killdeer and Willet, which were witnessed in about 10 minutes there. Oh, you're not likely to see a pink-tailed Pomsky though, that was ours. :) I'm sure there are other birds but we couldn't stay longer.
