First and foremost, The staff, Owner “upgrade guy” and his wonderful GF were amazing! Unbelievably personable, very engaged with all guests, fun, chatty and just plain old nice! They gave several options for tastings, which was very nice! Both were good values, but they offer the option of tasting ALL wines they have (14 available in the tasting room the day we went) if you want to do one “couples glass” and share. Great option when you’ve never been to a particular vineyard before! They also end the tasting with a full glass of your choice. Nice offer, not typical for most wineries! The Smoked Gouda, Sausage and Cracker plate that comes with your tasting was fantastic. Soooo much better than a handful of oyster crackers or pretzel sticks. It was a very nice addition on the part of the Owners! Small family winery BIG on personality! They offer Wine related items and Clothing. Local Honey, Handmade Soap and Pure Maple Syrup from other small local operations. Nice place to venture out to if you...
Read moreWe enjoyed a relaxing afternoon here, with beautiful Fall colors, unfortunately it started to rain and got chilly quick, so we didn't have the opportunity to venture through the vineyard. For something new, I purchased a wine tasting package for two, through Groupon. Really glad I did. We enjoyed sitting near the wood stove, sampling our flights of wine, along with a wedge of cheese and crackers. After that we had the opportunity to get a glass of wine, a canned ale, or a hard cider. They had a couple types of beer on tap as well. They usually offer three types of hard cider, but only had one available. We chose the cider that was available and went out on the deck to enjoy the music. I can't remember the gentleman's name, but if you check the winery schedule, it was the last Saturday of the season to have music. The music was quite nice, and appropriate for the location. If you're looking for a place to eat, the winery is very limited. Be sure to check...
Read moreMy wife and I visited Wild Mountain Winery on our way to a Minnesota State Park, seeing the sign we decided to stop by and are very happy that we did. We sampled their 10 wine tasting list, and for the price it was an incredible deal. They have some fantastic wine and a very small cozy feel to the tasting room and outside patios.
Being that it's a family operated winery run by people who live there and work in that community, if you go on the weekends you're very likely to see folks working and in the midst of producing wine. We had the pleasure of being able to talk with the founder of the winery and a number of the staff about their processes and the history of their business success. Needless to say their customer service and willingness to meet your needs are fantastic.
We purchased a bottle of their port, apple cider, and ice wine and would highly recommend...
