As my family and I sat at the peach orchard today enjoying our peach lemonade we are all in agreement this is by far the best family owned farm we have the pleasure of visiting. The scenery is breathtaking I feel a sense of peace and calmness anytime I visit. My family and I truly spent many hours there today without ever looking down at the time just enjoying each other's company walking around the beautiful property of Cider Hill Farm. We have been visiting the farm for about a year now and everytime we go we feel as if it were the first time because as the weather changes the colors of hills change the fruit picking option changes and the ever evolving food at their amazing food truck the Pitchfork for the most part weekly changes and I have to say I can never get tired of their food! They are using fresh ingredients that they grow or get locally and it's just always delicious. My personal favorite is the seasonal chili with cajun tractor fries or the avocado quinoa bowl with cajun tractor fries and the maple bacon chicken sliders omg so good! I have tried just about everything on the menu and I am never disappointed I have seen a difference in the turn out compared to last year for the food truck and though lately their has been more visitors and a little longer wait time for foodtruck Friday's it doesn't bother me because I know my food is made fresh and will be delicious quality over quantity anytime the chef and all of the girls work so hard to deliver the best oh and of course I always leave some room for the best cider donut ice cream I have ever tasted! Cider Hill Farm has become a go to location to unwind and reconnect with my family we love that the kids get a piece of country and farm life even though we personally live in a city. They get to run around and jump on hay bales ride around on pedal bikes climb on tractors and feed the chickens and just tun around and feel free. I will continue going their because I know it's become our happy place and it's all because of those who run it. Which if you get to meet anyone who works their you will understand just why Cider Hill farm is special! It takes a special group of employees special mention Jenny so fun chatting and always so positively responsive to feedback and of course dedicated owners such as Karen and Glenn who before I had the pleasure of meeting today I would always see working and making sure the farm was everything they expect for it to be for their visitors you are doing such an awesome job I can't begin to imagine the hard work and long hours all year round that goes into running and owning Cider hill the stress of it all should be reassured when customers like myself tell you I am one of the many satisfied customers who will always find a reason to go back and there will be bad days and busier days but the good will outweigh the bad.. your stirring up a pot of goodness and we are all looking for a little taste! Love Cider Hill Farm love the...
Read moreWent for the Strawberry festival on June 15 and was pretty disappointed. The facilities are nice and they do have a large selection of items in their store. However these are the things I disappointed in:
Everyone over 6 must pay a minimum of $10 each to go strawberry picking. So a family of 4 is $40. You can get a lot of strawberries, but it is WAY more than a typical family of 4 would eat. There are plenty of other places that just charge by the container you use or the weight of the strawberries and are of equal or better quality.
They advertised food trucks plural but there appeared to be only one. There were a couple tents with very limited items. This was a promoted event, so there were hundreds of attendees. There was only 1 person at the food truck taking orders, and each order was taking 3-5 minutes just to order. It was taking nearly an hour to get through the line to order food. More staff and/or trucks would have alleviated this unacceptable wait.
There was another food outlet with a big sign that said “Drinks and Desserts,” so I didn’t consider it for lunch. I later found out they did have some limited food items. After waiting in line at the food truck for 20 minutes, I caught wind of this and went over there to order lunch. They had several people taking orders so it went much faster. I wish they had more food options.
Not a huge deal but for some reason they were making everyone drive past seekingly fine parking spots to park in the very...
Read moreWent there on a late Sunday morning with two toddlers and the farm delivered on all fronts!!! Such a charming farm equipped with all the necessities to keep adults and toddlers alike entertained. We paid $15 for a PYO pint and quart of strawberries. Great deal. The tractor ride to the patch was easy, organized, and free. The strawberry selection plentiful despite the crowds we saw and so ripe. Appreciated the farm putting down hay so we weren’t walking in straight mud through the fields. When the kids were patched out, we headed back to the main farm area on the tractor ride to enjoy feeding chickens (25 cents for every condiment cup worth of feed) and the trike and sand box play zone. Lunch at the Pitchfork was affordable and so good! Only improvement we’d recommend is expanding kid menu to something other than just hot dog (though our boys ate that fine) and adding in fresh fruit instead of gummy bears. Sausage and peppers roll and the Mexican tacos hit the spot! Lots of shaded areas to sit and eat. Didn’t get to drink the hard cider but I’m sure every parent there was like YESS time to treat myself! To top it all off, farm store was so cute and organized, staff very friendly, and the live band playing down home music made the ambiance just perfect! Thank you for paying attention to the details and making this a fun, affordable experience for us and the kids....
