I can't give it 5☆ because when we went the visitor center and caboose we came to see were closed. Also, we didn't travel the entire trail but we climbed up onto the caboose to peek in the windows and it was really cool looking inside. I would love to come back when it's opened and the visitor center looked spacious on the inside so they must have something going on in there when it's opened. Read moreThis rail trail was developed from an old railroad line that was used to haul timber to the saw mill(s). This is not a really long trial with 2 access points. Also this is an out-and-back trail that's approximately 6.75 miles long, for a total of 13.5 miles round trip. Like all rail trails it's relatively flat so overall is a pretty easy ride. Overall the trail is well maintained and goes along a large stream with 4 or 5 bridges you cross and is a pretty scenic ride. There are several picnic areas and lots of benches...

It is flat and gravelly no dust and mud like some trails... perfect for biking ...mostly everyone we passed was biking... and the bathroom just past the bridge on your way in is immaculate... seriously cleaner than a bathroom at a big box store... in the middle if the woods. There are lots of places to get down to the water and lots of picnic spots along the way... we only walked 3 miles in...can't wait to visit again! Horses are also...
