This is def a place worth taking the extra time to go out and see the tragedy that happened here. The National Park service does a tremendous job in preserving the history, maintaining the facilities,the grounds & trails. It is free to enter & they practice social distancing, which is good to see during a pandemic. Lots of great info at the Visitors Center, esp with the half hour documentary film they have. The visitor center is full of great books, maps, reflections and impressions of the battle’s participants, with touching insights into the Nez Perce (Nee-Me-Poo) plight. Most of the battlefield is visible from the visitors center, but a short drive takes you to the trails that cover the area. Nice video available as well.
