Park features large playgrounds suitable for all ages and also a water feature with entry by the soccer fields. With it being next to the Sacramento River you get tto really see a wide range of avian life forms. For bird spotters this will be a real treat. Fishing from the river or in the parks ponds which are stocked annually with fish from local fish hatcheries. They feature several events here monthly on the park grounds and have reservations available online for reserving specific parts of the park.

Local pond has a family of beavers you can watch throughout the day playing, hunting and eating in the ponds.

We enjoy starting with some play time, going for a walk around the ponds and ending with some swing time on the various child safe swings in the children's park.

Local wildlife is abundant so park goers should be aware that animals like raccoons and skunks are frequently seen on the parks grounds and guests should not try to engage them.

Signs posted on proper ways to feed ducks so please be considerate of the local wildlife and only feed the birds according to posted signs. No feeding bread. It's...

This has been one of my favorite parks since childhood, I love this river I love this park I love its trees and I love it swings! I remember when the wizard of Oz swings were gone for a while and then they finally came back! every time I see them I hope they don't go away again. Today I decided to take my picture with one... But I didn't decide that till after I climbed up there to look and see what the inside of it looked like and had to try to dig my phone out of my pocket while holding myself up there with one arm in one way to take a selfie ๐Ÿ˜…

There are many social groups that meet here, clubs that meet your, a very well-maintained frisbee golf course, a remote control airplane park, bike jumps, great fishing spots, trail and field running, basketball courts, gazebos, there are social clubs, parent clubs, a community center that can be rented, This is a very well taken care of park That is loved by many :-). If you're in the area and looking for a park to go to, it's worth...

We rented the gazebo for a family reunion. I grew up going to ARP. I have seen this park go through MANY changes over the years. Some good, some not so good. The gazebo is old and outdated..I get it's a park but it has a metal roof so it holds all the heat in. They do have fans on the roof, but if you haven't rented it and just want to use it if no one else is, you can't turn them on..I think they should at least try to figure out something different for the roof..some sort of ventilation without letting rain water in during the winter months. There is a large BBQ put, with plenty of trash cans. There is an outdoor sink right next to the BBQ and there are 3 different locations options for bathrooms close by. It sits right next to the bocce ball court, the horse shoe pits and shares a parking lot for the tennis courts..the splash pad is just on the other side of the parking lot. It's close but not so close that the kids are to loud...scale of 1-10, I would give our...

Dog park: The dog park is well kept but small. There are two tunnels for playing in each section, small dog and big dog. I mentioned the size being small because a big dog can barely get enough room to get full sprint. Unfortunate because the park is so large, the dog park could be a lot bigger. Disc Golf: This course is fantastic. Lots of challenging holes with obstacles and open range holes. There are mandatory lines and out of bound areas, which I had never experienced before. There is a toilet covered in stickers so be sure to bring some to slap on. Water Park: The water park is so fun! Open late and has lights that add to the excitement. Over all: This park has good access to the river and many places to have family time with manicured lawns or in more natural settings. A gem of Anderson.

If your in town and want to see the Sacramento River up close? Check out Anderson River Park. Nicely maintained and clean facilities. Nice Splash pad and playgrounds for the kiddies and nice doggie parks as well. Theres a nice wildlife rehabilitation center and picnic tables to rest on as well as to reserve for special occasions. Theres frisbee golf and lots of wildlife to enjoy or even take the kiddos fishing off of the doc at the duck pond. And during summer evenings.Theres the Mosquito serenades. Great music, Great food and lots of relaxin. This is a sunset picture looking west on the edge of the Sacramento River at Anderson River Park.
