This used to be a nice place to hike as I have been hiking there for several years now but due to far too many crazy cyclists on e-bikes it is becoming an increasingly dangerous place to hike. You cannot hear them coming and twice in the last week I have almost been hit by them. The last incident the cyclist had to slam on his brakes and turned the bike sideways to keep from running into me. He had to be doing at least 40 mph if not more. Some e-bikes can go up to at least 55 mph. Are motorbikes going to be allowed on the trails next? It is only a matter of time before a cyclist seriously injures a hiker due to their negligent behavior. The cyclist would be at fault for any injuries sustained to a hiker due to their negligent behavior. This is supposed to be a place for both cyclists and hikers to enjoy but some of these cyclists seem to think they own the place. Since it is owned by the City Of Anderson Parks Department, Ben Orcutt or someone from his department needs to put up signage to get people know that "Wheels Yeild To Heels". I contacted the parks department to make them aware of the situation. The woman on the phone stated they will look into posting signs before someone is injured. Whether or not that will make a difference will...
Read moreA touch sketchy. I went on winter hike here on a cool winter morning. When I returned, I was preparing to leave when I had a creepy guy drive up in a Grey dodge pickup and he parked perpendicular to my vehicle shining his brights in my face with his bumper almost on my driver's door. I ignored him, and after a couple of minutes, he finally backed up and parked about 20 feet away and was staring at me. He was making weird jesters. I finished my call and left. The guy followed me through almost a dozen turns, and I pulled into a parking lot over 5 miles away in a populated area, and shortly after, he pulled in and parked about 100 feet behind me. I could see him in my rear view mirror. I was at the end of the parking lot, so he was not going to the stores. I just remained in my vehicle, and about 20 minutes later, he pulled past me and parked about 20 feet away in front of me. Finally, after 15 minutes, he sped away like a maniac. I remained in my vehicle for several minutes before leaving. I am not sure what the guys plan was, but if you see a Grey late model Dodge Ram 1500 with a company decal on his back window parked or come in while you are here, I would suggest...
Read moreon our second visit we did the intermediate route and it took us one-and-a-half hours for about 4.5 miles. on our first visit we walked the expert route and it took us 3 hours for about 7 miles. We did take quite a few photos and did a short detour to the river. There aren't any big hills, but lots of little ones and many of those are steep. I think if we put our heads down we could do this route in 2 hours. This has quickly become our favorite natural walking trail north of indy. there is endless variety as the trail twists and turns it's way around the park. It's a real treat for the eyes and senses. the little hills are great excersize without being over taxing. We are looking forward to exploring the...
