Have y’all been to Sadlers Creek? I loved exploring this one! #wanderingappalachian #lakehartwell #sadlerscreekstatepark #andersonsc #southcarolina #statepark

This down-to-earth campground is for those who enjoy nature but also like electricity and water. The graveled campsites are not cramped and you have room to move about and set up extra gear. While the facilities could use some TLC, the bathrooms are clean. However, I noted there were no tampon receptacles in the stall. I like the water-saver option on the toilets, and unlike many campgrounds you actually have the option to recycle your aluminum cans, plastic bottles, and newspapers. The office is tiny and don't expect to buy those last minute amenities there. Though the lower lake levels are dramatic you can investigate the lake bed with ease. The kiddie play area is small. The ball park is simply a mowed area with a tall chain link fence at one end. The dump station needs updating and the extra large rigs might have trouble navigating close enough to the dump area. Though this park is no frills you can bike, hike, run, fish, kayak, go boating to your heart's content. If you love nature, you'll love this park.

My daughter and I went to Sadlers Creek State Park to go fishing on the fishing pier. This pier has green neon lights underneath to draw in the big fish. When they first put the lights up it was open all night. I understand how dangerous it is after dark and we were at planning on staying 30 minutes to an hour after dark. We wanted to try to catch some fish with the lights. Just as soon as the sun set, before it was dark, the park ranger came around and told us we had to leave. The lights hadn't even come on yet. So we were very disappointed. What was the point of putting the lights up if you can't even use them? Again, I understand how dangerous it is at night with people creeping around and jumping out of bushes. Other than that, we had a great time watching the sunset and fishing. We didn't catch anything and 3 other people were there. This is definitely where you want to be...before dark!

They lock the gate at night , the sing says @ sun sets , so you best take heed because it should say an" hour before sunset " and they don't care if someone's just in there to ride a bike or take a hike because an hour before Sunset that gate is locked whether you meant to camp there or not you're not getting out until hopefully another camper rides up with a code that may or may not work then you're not leaving until 6:00 a.m. and that includes campers that pay to to Camp there. My daughter and I took my grandkids camping for a week she went online reserved the campsite and we both had paid in advance. Monday morning when I tried to leave for work tried to leave be was locked in missed work that day, my daughter said there is okay they sent her an email that she was supposed to open the gate so the next morning whenever I tried to leave code would not work after trying multiple times had to finally wait until the gate was open at 6:00 was 2 hours late for constantly pay both days so my word of advice is if you got to work don't camp at...

Very disappointed in the changes over the years. I use to enjoy being on the lake and fishing from in front of tent. I stayed this past weekend in loop 1 and nothing but rocky slopes. Would of had to drive to pier to fish. We tried at tent but you guys have put too many stones and lost tons of hooks with my 5 yr old. He wanted to swim and last time I was there all sites were on the water. Not now... so he couldnt swim because it was too dangerous for us to walk down. Not to mention another child fell down the rocks over weekend. I did cruise though the loop 2-3 before we left. Very crowded but easier to water. I dont really know if we will ever drive that far to just camp again. It really was disappointing. I can say though it's a very clean camp site. But seen no trash cans for trash so I drove my trash on home. We plan another camping trip in 2 weeks. I hope we get what were...
