An underwhelming, boring hike without much shade.
I planned on doing the longer series of hikes, but after doing the 1.3 mile Heron Loop, I had enough. For starters, the bathrooms were locked. The trail was littered with dog waste. The hike was mostly in direct sunlight, but there was a little bit of shade in spots. It was more of a walk around a lake than an actual hike. If you tried to go off trail to check things out, there were those weeds that stick to you all over and are hard to get off.
There were some neat views of the lake, but that was about it. Everything was very dry in the area too and there were signs of some burned wood.
I came here to wait for Yosemite to allow open access, since I didn’t make a reservation. I wasn’t too impressed.
