This place is the most magical wonderland of flowers, fruits and veggies, and one of my absolute favorite places on earth. I could literally spend hours just walking around and looking at all of the gorgeous plants every time I come from NYC to visit my family in Michigan. There are literally 50 different varieties of heirloom tomatoes, I LOVE to sample each of the different ones and then pick a few quarts of my favorites. They are literally like candy because they are so sweet. All of the vegetables here taste amazing. Today my mom made gato gato for dinner with a bunch of vegetables from the farm including zucchini, carrots, beets, peas, cilantro, meiqing choi, sugar snap peas and broccolini with a peanut sauce on top. I don’t even like half of those veggies but omg it was sooo tasty! The strawberries are also amazing, but you have to make sure to get there at the right time (of the season and of the day). The price is worth it imho because you can sample everything and you get to see exactly where it comes from. It’s also a great place for kids. I would give it 100...
Read moreThe individual at the front weigh station was pleasant enough and the dog was friendly and personable. I came for u-pick strawberries and paid an astronomical seven dollars a level quart. So many of these u-pick farms like to charge by the pound so it sounds lower and without a scale the customer has no way of knowing the full price of their purchase until the end of the transaction. At that point, you feel as though you can't tell the seller to keep their ridiculous produce. I stress ridiculous and astronomical because there was very little maintenance of the strawberry bed. I was walking on berries as I was trying to pick the "rows", there were weeds everywhere and no evidence of mulch around the plants. It was a right mess, even Rowes in Belleville is better. It certainly doesn't top Wittaker's Berry Farm where I will purchase the rest of my Michigan seasonal strawberries. Organic should not...
Read moreI picked strawberries on June 15th. The best thing you can say about this farm is that it is convenient to Ann Arbor. Pretty much everything else is a negative. They do not manage picking so you you have to search on your own to find a spot that has not already been picked. There is no straw and the rows have spilled over in the aisles. The berries were sparse and many berries had bad spots so picking was very slow. I suspect the plants are old and the field needs to be replanted. Parking is limited to a row along the edge of field. I was charged $5 a pound which translated to $6 for less than a full quart. Other u-pick farms in the area charge $2-3 a pound so $5 is pretty outrageous for such a...
