PA Welcome Center I-81 North — Attraction in Antrim Township

It was clean, peaceful, and they're wasn't too many people there. We enjoyed the scenery for a little bit before getting back in the road. They had vending machines, places to sit inside and outside, places to walk your dog, a picnic area, some vendors (who were not there that day) they had maps, and an area of course to park. I like how they separated the truck parking from the car parking. We were there during the day so I'm not sure how the lighting is at night. not very welcoming at all. drove 12 hrs in our rv from Ft Benning with our 2 yr old and 4 yr old in their car seats. I couldnt see straight anymore so we pulled in to the PA welcome center (@2200hrs) that was packed full of tractor trailers parked on top of each other. Old maintenance guy knocks on our door and says you cant stop here, youll need to go to one of the truck stops. I should not have been driving any further but had to. Im just wondering who would own the liability if I crashed after being kicked out of the " rest" area. I could understand if you set up in your rv and stayed 24 hrs but i just need 6 hrs of sleep. ...

Staff here was pleasant to talk with and janitor was also very helpful....very clean facility. Inside has a Franklin County visitors center, very clean restrooms, a sitting area/lobby/commoms area, lots of info, free state maps, brochures, and even has a live weather radar/traffic cameras to view to help u along your travels thru Franklin County, Pennsylvania... outside has a scenic view of mountian chain that runs along Interatate-81, a pet area, lots of benches and picnic tables to enjoy an outside meal with friends and/or loved ones or just to enjoy the outdoors while reading a book....
