We had a great time today at the Boyd Family Farm! The blueberries are you-pick. It is $5 per person over 2 for the admission and the blueberries are $2 per pound. The admission covers the blueberry picking, petting farm, farm slide, pictures with a tractor, as well as other activities. There was also honey for sale ($9-$10 depending on flavor and size), and a lemonade stand with different flavors of lemonade for sale ($6 for a regular large jar).
The blueberry trails vary in difficulty. There are some trails that are easy to push a stroller through and some bushes are only accessible by pushing through and ducking under other bushes. I spent about 1 hour picking and picked 4 pounds of blueberries.
The staff was very kind and friendly to both us and our children. The children had a great time picking the berries and doing the activities. The farm is very child friendly and has a port-a-potty on the premises as well as lots of hand sanitizer.
Overall so happy we came and would love to go back before the...
Read moreGreat outing for young kids. We found Blueberry picking to be a great activity for small fingers, work those fine motor skills. The food trucks were there on Saturday in the summer with $6 kids meals, and shaved ice and cold lemonade. The fairly open field allowed for a light breeze while we picked berries in the North patch. For the most part we were able to stay in the shade whole gathering berries. They have a cute variety of animals to see, and the walkthrough is laid out really well. They've put a lot of effort into this. The staff was all kind and very friendly. We'll be going back. It's worth noting: Pay attention to GPS or you might drive right past the entrance. Going to any farm in AL in the summer is hot. The petting zoo is fun, but my young kids did better feeding from outside the fence. The hungry Alpacas have little regard for personal space once you set foot inside. What to do with my 3 lbs of...
Read moreWe visited as part of a homeschool field trip and had an absolute wonderful time! The owners were very kind and accommodating and the animals were so cool! We were too late in the season for blueberry picking, but the tour of the farm was amazing, along with all the animals and information about them. The kids loved being able to pet, and feed, the goats, ponies, donkeys and alpacas. The exotic animals were amazing and the setting of the farm was beautiful. The drive in, once you turn onto the drive, was beautiful, as you make your way through a small bit of forrest, to get to the parking and entrance areas. The prices were extremely reasonable and worth every penny! We will be recommending this to everyone and will be back...
