This was one of my favorite parts about my recent drive from Everett into Winthrop. I passed this trail the last time I was here because I was getting my bearings around the park. There are plenty of SUV, car and RV parking. You can access the Gorge Lake viewpoint on the other side of highway 20, but I recommend you park in the additional parking spots to the right of the Gorge Overlook trail instead. Read moreAbsolutely beautiful. Also surprisingly not very crowded even on a weekend. The overlook bridge shimmies a bit when traffic drives over, so definitely keep a strong grip on your phone / camera while you're taking pictures. I can imagine many phones have been dropped off that bridge by people not expecting the swaying movement of the bridge when vehicles towing campers or other such larger vehicles drove by. Read moreThis was a nice easy trail. Half side was paved. You can complete the trail by doing the unpaved walk as well. You can also come back the same way in the paved trail (accessible). The gorge overlook was beautiful. It’s beautiful blue water next to the dam made the view more enjoyable. We completed the trail by doing both paved and non-paved area.
