Mt. Baker is a fantastic local ski area and one of my favorite spots in Washington. I’ve been coming here for years, and it always delivers—especially on powder days. It’s smaller than some resorts, but that’s part of the charm. It’s less crowded, with hardly any lift lines in my experience. The terrain is best suited for advanced skiers, but there’s still plenty for beginners and intermediates. The views from the top are stunning, and the lodges serve surprisingly good food. It’s true Mt Baker is more suitable for advanced skiers, as the lowest lift going up beginner slope takes you up two tall hills and you can’t see the end of the lift from the base.
