Oooooohhh my goodness I loved it. My kids loved it. The people around us loved it 😅 it's about an hour and 47 minutes away from us when traffic isn't bad and I found it totally worth it. Open area, beautiful big bridge, wide walking paths and a few historical figures :) The ONLY downfall doesn't include this place specifically, it's just we went on a Sunday.... And there were times where getting in or out of town was at a complete stand still. And residents had signs in their yards saying "You're why I can't leave my house on Sundays" so it may not be the best day to visit if you are. We are already planning our next...

One of our favorite places to take an easy walk through the woods. Enter the trail from a beautiful, wide suspension bridge with gorgeous views of the river. From there the dirt trail goes through the woods, which is filled with not only cedars, but other evergreens. There are a couple of places where you can walk down to the riverbank. The trail loops through the woods and there are a number of interpretive signs along the way. If you're in the mood for a shady, scenic walk through the forest, this...

This is the perfect stop for us on the drive over Washington Pass. It's the perfect time to stop and get a stretch before heading out again. Plus the short loop trial after crossing the suspension bridge over the Skagit River is delightful with beautiful trees and lots of informative plaques about the history, the flora and fauna. I highly recommend stopping and enjoying this well kept trail. I walked it with flip flops on and had no...

Nice and easy trail through the forest to an old powerhouse. Some amazing cedar trees, I never knew cedars grew so high! The trail comes back along the river and back to the bridge. Certainly worth the 15min it takes to walk the trail. Make sure you park on the visitors parking area. The info center only has 30min parking and to leave there it’s one traffic that takes you out to the gorge powerhouse and then back to the parking lot.

This is a scenic hike that begins with a spectacular bridge crossing over the Skagit River. The trail isn’t grueling and the twin three year olds with me handled it without issue. There are a few hollow trees with cavities large enough to get inside. The mountain views you can see from everywhere on the trail are stunning. There are also picnic tables. We carried ours to get it into some shade and then ate lunch.
