Our experience could not have been more amazing here! Lucky Spur is a really nice venue with a beautiful scenery. No matter where you decide to have your ceremony inside or out. Memories mean everything to me. There were sooo many places to take pictures. Our photographer and videographer were having a ball. I’m so excited to get our photos back!

Dakon and Sharie were two absolute amazing people to work with. They were extremely understanding, accommodating, and very genuine people to work with. It helped ease a lot of my wedding stress. I am truly grateful. They were definitely a huge blessing in my entire process.

At first I was highly disappointed we couldn’t have outside catering because I’m a huge foodie. I wanted our traditional Asian 5-7 course meals. However, chef Julio and his team did NOT disappoint. After my wedding duties were done, I stumbled into the kitchen to see if there were leftovers. It was THAT good. I still crave for my wedding dinner and will definitely order from them for future parties.

My husband decided he wanted to choose the weekend package which means we would have the venue/cabins Friday-Monday so we could accommodate our wedding party and guests. It wasn’t something I wanted because after the wedding, I just wanted to be done. It ended up working out nicely! We got to come up to the venue Friday to set up and have our rehearsals.

After our wedding reception, our party moved to the courtyard/saloon. The weather was perfect and everyone continued to have a great time. Sunday, we had food brought up to the cabins and invited our close friends and family back to thank them for coming near and far to celebrate our big day with us. It was something our guests REALLY appreciated!

The cabins were nice and clean. I loved that we had two kitchens to work with so our guests were able to heat up their food if needed. Another thing I didn’t think of that came in handy was the ice machine. It was one less thing we had to worry about!

It’s been a couple weeks from our wedding and we still get text messages from our friends, family, and coworkers about how amazing our wedding was from the food to the entire venue.

If I could do one thing differently, I would change absolutely NOTHING. This place exceeded everything I could ever imagine.

Lucky Spur Ranch Retreat was beautiful and exactly what I wanted for my wedding day—the rustic country wedding. Sharie and Dakon were very responsive and I loved that they offered the overnight option package. My husband and I wanted a celebratory weekend and that’s why we chose Lucky Spur. The Saloon was a big hit with our families to carry the after-party over from the reception. The food was fantastic. Chef Julio did not disappoint. They also allowed my greyhound to be in the ceremony (that had an impact on us because we love our dog). They also worked with us and let us have a late check out since there wasn’t a wedding the next day. The reason why I’m giving Lucky Spur 4/5 stars is because of the accommodations. The venue, rooms, and bathrooms were extremely clean and the grounds were immaculate, however, the air conditioning in the groom’s suite was not working well that day (we got married in August, in Texas), so all the guys were pretty hot while they were getting ready. The honeymoon suite had a lot of mosquitos (we realized when we woke up that one of the windows wasn’t sealed well because a wasp got inside) and my husband got bitten all over. Also, I was a little disappointed that the kitchen staff cut our wedding cake from the top tier down, so we were not able to save the top tier for the “1 year” tradition because it was served to guests first. I emailed Sharie about the issues after the wedding and she responded very genuinely and kindly and thanked me for bringing it to their attention and said that they would fix the issues immediately for future weddings. Gosh, where do you even begin! We moved to Texas about three years prior to our wedding and knew we wanted to give our guest a true Texas experience. We decided to book on the spot. We had seen other venues but none of them offered half of what Lucky Spur Ranch did. The hospitality this place offers is top notch. We had our rehearsal dinner on site the night before and had our wedding party stay in the two houses and rooms. Everything was clean, comfortable and stocked with everything that you would need. The staff is kind, patient, and willing to do whatever they can to make your dream day a reality. Sharie helped us with any questions that came up throughout our planning process and her sweet, bubbly personality made us feel so special. You can tell that she truly cares and loves what she does. Dakon was so great as well. His easy-going, and humble personality truly made us feel taken care of.
