I'm very surprised with only the 3 reviews here. With the parking lot being completely filled. 95% of the other went the easy way to another scenic overlook. Coffee pot Just under 3 miles round trip from the trail head to the the keyhole cave- GPS watch. Sugarloaf trailhead parking lot, has only 10 parking spots, so get here early. Since parking on the road isn't aloud, parking signage will tell you...
The first 1 miles is somewhat on a trail, and the remaining .50 miles we bushwacked our way to GZ, by following the dry creek bed. I climbed up the left side. Which I would consider a 5.5 if you know your climbing route grades. About 18-22' climb inside you go for a wonderful view of the valley. I took 3 pictures of my son and then made our way down on the right side. Followed the dry creak bed back to where we parked. Definitely a favorite point here. Not suggested for anyone with little climbing experience, you will get rescued! See the pictures for yourself.

Read moreThe Keyhole Cave was worth it to hike. Views outstanding. Can see Bell Rock, Courthouse, Cathedral, Airport Mesa, Village of Oak Creek and more. We got lost after split Teacup trail/Coffee Pot Rock and Keyhole cave trail, bc trail is not marked at all. After some time of exploring area we did find the right way. Use a teacup trail and then keep eye on the left. Again, it's not marked well. Cave is huge! From far away looks just a small hole in the mountain. No pictures or video can show it how huge it is upclose. Inside cave looks like 2 store building inside, it is pretty cool cave, only can experience if you go there. Overall if you find right hiking trail will take up to 2h go and come back. Beginning trail is easy hike, then gets steeper, looser rocks, a lots of spiky bushes, trees and big rocks. My mom 73 hiked with us. We saw small kids 4-10 years old as we'll. Trail is easy-moderate hard and fun. Parking is very limited. One parking lot had only for 7 cars to park. And was full in not...
Read moreA top hike in Sedona! Reading reviews we were a bit skeptical but so happy we did it. Most will have little trouble reaching the entrance to the cave, although the last .25miles is a bit tougher. The hard part is getting up into the cave which I wouldn’t recommend for anyone 40+ not in good shape. We saw a coyote and rabbits, no snakes but we did the hike early November, so summer might be different. Took 2 hours with a long stop in the cave to take photos. Advice: you can see the cave from the parking lot, just head straight in that general direction and you’ll eventually get there despite lack of a...
