We got off the river to explore Granny’s house. A 5 minute walk from the ORT River crossing at Jim Bluff. Follow the rapid, hugging the bluff on river left and get off in the middle of the rapid in line with the middle of the island in the river. You’ll see a trail leading to the right (down river). Follow that and you’ll come up on some wooden markers pointing you to the ORT or Centerpoint. Head towards the centerpoint trailhead. Read moreThis is a long track down the mountain to get to the cabin. I would recommend seeing Goat Bluff Trail on the way down, and hiking onto Steel Creek along the river bed and stay the night. If not, bring water, snacks, and allow plenty of time to get back up the mountain. You can go in the cabin and look around. It has old remnants of wall paper and an old fireplace inside.
