The plantation is a really nice visit. It's an interesting snapshot into one family in the middle of the advance of history in Arkansas. Renovation is still ongoing, but what they've been able to do so far is pretty impressive. Only two things I think need improvement is how to make purchases there. You almost need to have an ability to take card payment for gift shop products these days.

It would be helpful to locate "house closes at 4" above the bolded "Office Hours M-F 8-5" on their website. I was told in the office that it takes an hour to tour the home. The website says tours are available only at 10 and 2. If the only way to actually go inside the home is to do it for an entire hour at 10 or 2 on a weekday, not many people will ever be able to tour, or even head down the highway to see the outside. It makes me sad. Preservation of these places is not that important if they are...
Read moreHighly recommend this hidden gem in Arkansas! Nice and (most importantly) knowledgeable staff will help you with any questions you may have. They do guided tours and if you prefer self-guided tour the staff will answer any ad hoc questions. House and grounds are really nicely done and show its unique character. There is a lot of information available if you like a history or you can just enjoy attractions (sound! - really cool) and artefacts displayed. There is a nice section that presents all refurbishment works done over few years time in 2005. Really...
