My friends reserved the group camp area which included a private beach area. In my opinion the beach area should’ve been raked of debris. I include a photo to show the state of the beach. Another issue was that the private beach sign was small and partially obscured by brush. So, Numerous boaters and kayakers came up to try to dock at the private beach, and were very confrontational when asked to respect the designated area of the beach that was reserved for the group camp area. More signage could’ve prevented some negative experiences we experienced.

This is a much more chill beach. A lot quieter than Dam Site. Bank fishing in this area is some of the best. You have access to deep water from the shore. Also have some more shallow waters where the catfish will be home to feed at night.

We had a great time. The public restroom was gross. (Clean, but no plumbing) so heads up, if you're thinking about changing clothes or using those facilities. Otherwise, great. Clean beach with sand. Picnic tables were available.

Its the start of the 2017 summer season and most of the campground is full. My small family of 3 and 2 dogs went for one overnight stay just to check out the area. The good things were the swim beach, community feel and easy access to restrooms. We did not have a reservation and our primitive site A24 was big enough for a 3 person tent and enough tree coverage for 3 hammocks or more. Overall its a cheerful, fun, crowded summer spot, kids on bikes, constant cars in and out. If you want to experience peace and solitude, this is not the place. Campers abide by the 10pm quiet time but again all night long traffic coming in and out makes it feel like you just sent your tent up in a empty lot next to the interstate.. That being said, big turn offs.. Within 3 feet of tent set up there is nothing but toilet paper scattered everywhere. Within just a few feet of the site its a human waste dump. Unburied waste. I was immediately disgusted upon finding it while looking for scrap kindling. Facilities are close! There is no reason to have to encounter that kind of pollution. Additionally, the campground says to be dog friendly. That just means you're allowed to bring your dog, you cannot tether them at your campsite and you must keep your dog on a 6 ft leash at all times. Its very strict and dogs are not allowed down the beach area. We never leave our dogs unattended, but it would have been nice to tether them to the table while we unpacked the car. That leads me to the last disappointment. Let's be honest, the elderly office personnel have their hands full. They get confused easily and what should take 10 minutes at the most is a 30 minute event. People standing waiting for passes or stuck in window traffic on a hot day can be even more of a delay. I feel sorry for them. We won't drive 2 hours to camp here again, a day trip to visit is...

More peaceful. Backed up to a nice calm deep water cove for swimming in the G-Section. Small cliff jumps and large rocks to sit out on by the water or in it. Perfect jumps for small kids. Clean and clear waters. Booth attendant was fair, usually they are very welcoming. Campsites are nice and clean. Most fellow campers polite and helpful as usual. We did have one neighbor that stayed 3+ days with only his chair and slept in his car 🤷🏻‍♂️. Never seen that before. Besides the squirrel next door there were four more in the woods having a family dispute, but those were actually squirrels so...

Went to spend one night there. I paid using my debit card and once I arrived to our campsite, I noticed I was charged for 2 nights instead of 1. I immediately went back to the office and stated the problem. The clerk told me to come back in the morning at 10am that she was closing down and she will re-credit my card for the night we don't stay. Well, the next morning comes and no one is at the office. Look online and see that they are closed on Saturday and Sunday. I shouldn't have had to pay for a mistake the park clerk made. Overall, the...
