A & A Recycling — Attraction in Arlington Heights

I've been to dozens of recycling facilities over time to sell my scrap. A & A Recycling quickly became the only place I take all my scrap. For my Business records I weigh all of my scrap before I sell it with the exception of steel. I've sold to them hundreds of times and their weights matched what I wrote down every single time. That proved to me their scales were frequently checked for accuracy .The prices the pay are always high and competitive. Their facility is always clean and organized. The Drive Thru they have for customers who arrive "Ready to Go" eliminates long wait times. They also provide individual parking stations in the back for customers who need to prepare or separate what they have before getting in line. What sealed the deal and made me a loyal customer is the unbelievable amount of comradery and customer service the employee's have. They are always friendly, willing to answer your questions, and help assist customers any way they can. Not any easy thing to accomplish when you work with large amounts of Scrap metal all day and assist customers who are tired and dirty from working with the same. First time coming to this recycling location. I was confused at what was supposed to happen but a fork truck driver came over and dropped a tote near our car for us to use since the car ahead of us were career scrappers and we're taking forever to unload. I asked him how it worked and he explained it to me real quick. So we unloaded all of our scrap metal into the rolling cart. Then we waited our turn up by the scale where it was chained off to keep each customer separated from the scale process. Then once it was tallied up, we took our slip to the window about 10 ft away and got our money. Then we left. Process was super easy and the place was pretty clean considering what they do there. too. Everyone was friendly as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to scrap metal to keep it out of landfills as it was an easy process. Doesn't hurt they pay...

I am not a avid scrapper. I'm just a homeowner trying to keep more junk out of the landfill. They have always been very helpful. Its not a pristine store front, its a scrap sorting facility. They keep a pretty clean and organized facility for the type of business they are running. Its been hit or miss on the wait time based on how busy they are, but its always an easy process and the staff are very friendly about giving me a quick education so im better prepared the next time. Usually walk away with enough from my household scrap to pickup a case of beer, and the metal stays in circulation instead of going to a landfill. I'll keep going...
