This is a cute little trail that's perfect for a short adventure. It's about a mile from the street parking to the Potomac and it's relatively flat. There are about 10 creek crossings so be prepared to get your feet a little wet. There's not a ton of signs and I took a couple accidental detours on the way so keep an eye out for stream crossings that aren't immediately obvious. Free street parking on 30th street. Several off leash dogs so be mindful of that as well

Solid hiking trail that weaves in and out of a small river/creek that leads to the Potomac. This is great if you're looking to 'escape' the DC area without having to drive an hour + out of the way. An added plus is that it is dog friendly and usually quiet, even on nice weekend days.

Nice short walking trail to the Potomac river. Be warned there are several stream crossings throughout and slippery rocks. When you get to the bottom you reach the Potomac heritage trail and can go up or down the river from there. Dog friendly!

Lovely walking trail with several stream crossings. It can get a bit muddy and slippery. Great place to walk your dog—mine loved it. However there are a lot of off-leash dogs. We were there for an hour, and I saw at least seven dogs off leash. People with dogs made uncomfortable by off-leash dogs running up to them may...

If you’re longing to encounter multiple owners with dogs off leash, this is park for you. If you have an insatiable need to have a muddy dog jump up on you, come to this park. 3 different arrogant owners, 5 dogs off lead, in one 24 min visit. Signs are posted with park guidelines, including...
