A lot of wildlife! I saw a bear in a tree. 🐻🌳 I've seen the northern lights here a few times. I climbed the firetower and was joined by a raven up at the top. Little to no cell service once you're in the park.

We love riding ATV's here! Been riding there for 2 years with our 2 kids ages 10 &13. Easily accessible, clean trails and side by side are welcome too!

On a sunny August weekend, tons of people on ATVS and dirtbikes here. ATV trails are wide(4-10 feet) soft earth. Horse camp completely empty. There are four free rustic campsites accessible by hiking (one accessible by ATV/dirtbike) and free camping anywhere in the woods - it's state forest. Tons and tons of mosquitoes and hiking trails heavily overgrown with blackberry brambles and ferns. Not a lot of shade even though it is a forest (most of the trees are very small due to storms a few years back). Still -...

It's a state forest. It has trees. But there is more!

Campsites. Lakes. 22 miles of Horseback trails. 25 Miles of Mountain Biking. 45 Miles of ATV trails. 42 Miles of Snowmobiling trails. Hunter walking trails. It even has a dog sledding area. There's a whole lot more here than your typical state forest and you don't have to pay to enter like you do at the...

This is a great place for trail riding in the spring and fall. The bugs become overwhelming in the summer. From the Tamarack parking lot you have a great ride across the river twice and up the hill to a great overlook. A nice alternative is to ride the state trail to Danbury, WI, crossing the St. Croix River on an old...
