This was our first time visiting the park. We stopped with the intention of having a quick picnic before getting back on the coastal highway. To our surprise and pleasure the park is amazing. The old WWI barracks are still partially intact. If your a little adventurous you can explore the inside passages and imagine what it was like to be stationed there in the early 1900. Bring your boots, a flash camera for underneath, and the sunset is awe-inspiring. This summer has been free of rain for weeks and weeks now. If you get a chance to visit here, you'll also love the short tunnel across the highway, which basically sits underneath what was probably a bomb shelter. Be careful with small children around the gun battery area as there are many fall hazards and large steel doors that are rusted through and unsecured. Great place to explore for adults.
