It's a nicely maintained park. There are no garbage cans in the parking lot or at the trailhead, though. That's not meant to be a criticism but just a note to be prepared to pack out your trash and dog poop.
The trail was described in All Trails app as a loop trail, but it is more like a loop trail with an out and back section in the middle, so you can skip a section if you want to make the hike shorter.
It is a good trail for walking your dog, but it is on leash only. Near the trailhead, at the information sign, someone had left some spare leashes, probably to encourage people to follow that rule. There's an offshoot of the loop that ends at a beautiful panormic view of the city and surrounding hills. It's a little more challenging, with narrower paths and multiple switchbacks. I call this section the "kids complaining every 10 feet" section, but I'm sure your kids will be just fine. Read moreFirst, I am not sure why some revie claimed this okace is hard to find. There are signs posted through out the neighborhood and Google map knows exactly where the parking is. The trail is well maintained. Interpretive signs throughput the trail so give you better understanding of the eco system in that area. Trail ends at the panoramic view point at the top. If you are a trail runner like me, the grade is challenging but not punishing. I ran up and back in 30+ mins each many photo stops. All in all, very beautiful and nice hike. There is a seasonal stream crossing. It is advisable to check with Three Bridges website to find out if the trail is closed due to high...
