This place is wonderful. The beach is amazing, the parks new redesign is awesome, and it has enough parking every time we come over. However, I’m taking off a star of the bathrooms and beach. Sure, the bathrooms are fine, but the one near the beach is DISGUSTING. There was literal human FECES on the floor and stank. The only thing someone did about it was throw toilet paper on it. And people let their dogs use the bathroom in the sand of the beach and didn’t pick it up at ALL. People need to do better on checking the bathrooms at this park. Other than that, the park was a great experience.
I would also like to mention, that I had went for a second time. I removed the four star rating because I found more problems occurring during my visit here for a second time. Me and my family have a grandfather that lives right next to the park; so we go there every Sunday to enjoy ourselves and go to the lake during the summer. Did the lake experience improve? No, in fact, there was human and dog feces scattered around the area and there was even a group of teenage kids using the bathroom publicly in the sand and no one batted an eye. Yuck. Did the bathrooms change? Nope, they haven’t cleaned up the feces mentioned in the last visit and now it’s stunk the whole room; and it’s nasty shades of green with flies all over it. I could clearly tell staff didn’t do anything but place more toilet paper on it to try and “hide” the mess. I saw plenty of snakes on the children’s playground and witnessed a small snake biting incident on the monkey bars, but luckily the kid was okay and no ambulances rushed on over. Just an epi-pen. There is algae everywhere on the beach and in the lake’s dirty water. It’s hard to tell wether your about to get bit by a fish or it’s nasty and smelly algae brushing up against your leg. One review even said it had a blue shade, and in fact, it did. Despite the alcoholic beverages not allowed, a group of Hispanic people sat down at nearby picnic tables with bottles of wine, whiskey, champagne, and different types of alcohol per person there. While I was at the showers two creepy old men watched me and my younger sister, who is a minor, wash off the sand on our swimsuits. One man approached us and tried to grope us, and we told staff. Staff just shrugged it off and told us to deal with it ourselves. This is even worse than last time and you are endangering the health of kids, safety of kids, and the adults that come here. Even the wildlife no longer thrives here and you call this a “park”. Get better employees and get a grip on how to run a park and keep people safe; I will not be returning until these problems are fixed. What a...
Read moreThis place is amazing! Me and my family have never been here before so when we first pulled up we were blown away about how big this park is and you have sections for disc golf, sections for playgrounds, dog trails to walk your dogs I mean I'm so proud to live in an area that cares about its community enough to make a place like this. Once you walk up to the beach you feel a sense of comfort and safety, there was an officer on duty making sure everything was okay and they do not allow smoking on the beach so you don't have to worry about being somewhere with your kids and someone starts smoking. The beach was so comfortable and the sand was soft and once you get in the water there are absolutely no rocks in the water! Everything is silky smooth and you can swim comfortably and there's a barrier that keeps you from swimming too far out where the water gets deeper. I highly recommend this location for barbecues and...
Read moreOur dog LOVES ❤ all of the private dog parks here!!! He doesn't get along well with others, so we NEVER get to take him to dog parks while traveling 😞 (Thank you so much for making thos an option) Going in, it's easy to assume that for only $1-2/hr (I can't remember which, but I think it's only $1), ur only going to get a small fenced in area with little to no shade. That's so not the case. Every single one of them has shade, a water station for them, picnic tables, usually tennis balls laying around, and TONS of room to run and play. #5 is my favorite one. It's huge with a wooded area in the middle of it. Saint lives for this place!!! One of the many reasons we love this area and are not looking forward to when we have to travel to the next spot. ✌🏻❤🐕🐾🍂🪵🍄🐿🐦🌲🌳☘🍁🌿🍃🦗🌎 #exploreoutdoors #germanshepherd #fisharefriendsnotfood #stopanimalcruelty...
