We attended the 9 pm viewing time on Dec 26th and it was great! Definitely worth paying for the extra parking so you don’t have to ride the shuttle bus. Of course having the shuttle is a great option to save money. Not crowded at all. Such a magical Christmas experience! S’mores stations and hot cocoa were available to purchase. We took our time walking and taking photos, it took us about 50 minutes. 2 of the people in our group had visited the Atlanta botanical gardens the week before. They said this one was nicer, much better organized and way less crowded! We will definitely be back next year!

Love love love this place. All year it is great. We go all year and often. This year was our first year going to the Christmas lights and it was amazing. We will be going back every year as long as it stays affordable. The children’s garden is the best. Great for kids and grownups. It has a vegetable garden worked in. The whole garden is well planned, well tended and beautiful. I love going again and again.

The Botanical Gardens of Georgia in Athens has wonderful landscaping. Different sections have different vibes. Some are serene, some are festive, some are peaceful. Be sure to visit the flower section. There's also a porcelain and decorative arts museum which is worth checking. The botanical gardens can host events. It's a major attraction in Athens, Georgia. It can be quite hot in the summer, though.

Sorry there are not any pics. But just wait until you get there! Different types of gardens. A play space for children, an exceptional concert lawn space. it is great for concerts for all ages. Bring your lawn chairs and your picnic baskets. Just make sure of what you can bring in them. There is an elevator for use, which is really nice to get from the top gardens to the bottom gardens. There is a beautiful yet steamy tropical oasis to walk through from the inside welcome center. Art is displayed. Classes and lectures for all ages. AND an absolutely beautiful Chapel in the woods. Heavenly. It has a smaller more church like reception area. But. If you need some elegance and a something more formal, they have that too, plus a wedding coordinator. So. You won't be bored. And Christmas time is completely done up with lights and crazy decor. Libations, hot chocolate and music to get you into the holiday spirit, even if you are a prince! Can you tell I like this place?? Oh. one last thing, running/ walking routes that are color coded. I found one with a bench, not too far from the parking area, right by the river. So. I'll stop now and just let you see for yourself! Yes. I talk...

The State Botanical Garden of Georgia located in Athens is a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of every day life. There are quiet places to sit and be alone with your thoughts. There is a children's garden with slides and climbing ropes and a splash pad. The conservatory has a permanent collection of tropical plants and a local artist's work is featured every month. There's a new museum featuring ceramic art. And a gift shop with the coolest merchandise. There are summer concerts, day camps, and plant sales. Plus a marvelous Christmas holiday light show was recently added. Admission to the garden is free, some events do...
