Purchased four tickets & they told us the maze closes at 9. Which we arrived just before 8 for the sole purpose of venturing thru the corn maze in the dark which is the most challenging. When arriving to the mazes, the young man asked which maze we wanted to go thru.asked how many they had.he proceeded to tell us that they have a medium&hard one but they both close when it gets dark so we could go thru the easy one.after going thru it&then arriving back to the gift shop where we purchased almost $125 worth of pumpkins,I expressed my disappointment& unsatisfaction that they close the mazes except for one&failed to tell us when we arrived, but of course still charged us the same price.the lady in charge was there&I repeated my complaint to her with not even a sorry or raincheck but did get an attitude when I asked for something to wipe the blood off my knee that I cut on the corner of their buggy I had my pumpkins in.so if you're going for the experience of the corn maze after dark,DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!!! ITS NOT WORTH IT!!! we've been going there for many many years, but after tonight they won't be getting any more of our money.its DEFINITLY NOT the Mayfield family...

Our regular Pumpkin Patch had closed, so we were on the look out for a new place to go to.

Mayfield Farms was one of the closest pumpkin patches to Chattanooga. There was another that was closer, but did not offer the range of activities that Mayfield did; Mayfield offers a pumpkin patch, gift store, large corn cribs for kids to play in, a robust and well-built jungle gym, a make bubbles station, pet/feed the goats station, sand pit, a tricycle racing arena, and a hay ride option, along with a corn maze.

We stayed for about 3 hours, in the morning, and for two adults and 5 kids under 10 it was around $130, which is the only reason for the lack of five stars. Otherwise, the weather was perfect, the bathroom facilities clean and serviceable with port-a-potties as options as well.

We did not get a chance to actually go to the pumpkin patch, go on the hay rides, or sample the food offerings and their prices, as our kids were entirely take up with the jungle gym, the corn crib, and the large jump pads in the middle of the farm.

A lovely experience, if a...

My wife and I's child came home after a field trip from Mayfield's and they have a tetherball and a child from another school hit the ball and the rope got wrapped around our sons neck. He said he couldn't breathe and no adult was around to untangle this from his neck. Luckily another student seen this happening and untangled it from him. It looks as if he was choked like from a creepy movie. I messaged Mayfield's Corn Maze and this was their response "Hi Karl, I can understand how upset you are. I will be addressing this as quickly as possible. Thank you for bringing this to our attention." No apology and no return call. I don't think people realize how fast no oxygen or blood to your brain can cause brain damage or possibly death. Since my wife and I was not addressed in a timely manner I think we may seek council. Children are precious and life is fragile. If you want a business that caters to children then have precautions and people keeping a close eye at all times. Many schools have removed tetherballs for dangers such as this....

There is so much to do that I don't think you'd ever have to wait in a line much if at all. The corn pit, tire station area, inflatable animals, and hay ride were all super toddler friendly for my 1yr old! Definitely more to do for ages 3/4+ put my daughter had a blast! I will say that I was a little disappointed that the apple and pumpkin donuts were already prepackaged, not fresh. Saw some reviews that led me to believe the pumpkin patch was bigger and that you could pick them off the vine, but that's not the case. It's a bit pricey, but most patches are. They have promos before Oct so I'd hold off for that. They also have military and first responders discounts! We will visit Mayfield again since there's so much for children of any age to do!!

Getting in is the hardest part. Very unorganized. If you buy your tickets online you still have to wait in the very long, very slow ticket line to check and get your wristbands. Of course, that line is only labeled tickets, so you don't know you need to do that until you've been turned away after trying to go in. Once you get in you are mostly on your own to have fun and find things to do. Most things are just setup and you do what you want. Most of the things that are run by staff cost extra. Not a bad way to spend some time, but don't expect a lot (but do enjoy some ice cream).
