Ramble Creek Wedding & Event Venue — Attraction in Athens

Hi fellow Brides! I got married at Ramble Creek a few weeks ago. Here is a very detailed description of my experience -

Overall Experience: Although pricey, the venue is beautiful and the Ramble Creek staff ROCK IT the day of your wedding. Initially, I was irritated with the pricing and felt as though I was being “nickel and dimed” for everything. It took me until the day of my wedding to realize WHY. I had a 13 page document for how I wanted my wedding executed. I guess you could say I was a very “hands on/controlling” bride with high expectations :) The day of my wedding, the RC staff (which feels more like a small ARMY), executed my plan flawlessly. No detail was spared, and they really understand and care about how important the details are. So, although things feel expensive in the beginning, to me, it was 100% worth it in the end.

STAFF: OWNERS: Buck and Jenny are genuine, caring people. This isn’t “just a business” for them. They really want you to have the best day ever.

COORDINATOR: I would trust Audrey with my life. She was vital to my sanity both leading up to and the day of the wedding. She listened to me and made time for me whenever I needed it. She glued over 50 candlesticks together for me on wedding day. She never made me feel like I was an annoying bridezilla (and I WAS). It’s like having the most organized person, with a yoga instructor’s voice, guiding you through the day while simultaneously orchestrating your big event. I would absolutely recommend booking her through Ramble Creek as your day-of coordinator.

DIRECTOR: I didn’t see Megan until the day of, and didn’t really understand what a day-of director was, but she was everywhere. She fixed my broken seating chart, helped us use the steamer, checked on us at the perfect times to make sure we were ok, set up the bridal suite so perfectly with our things before we arrived, lots of little things that made a big difference. Her and Audrey tag-teamed the event like a well-oiled machine.

OTHERS: It felt like there were 20 people working for Ramble Creek that day. Many of them were communicating over head sets with each other. It was unreal. They are like the Special Forces of weddings or something. All of them smiled at me, they seemed happy to be there, they were constantly anticipating my needs and giving me whatever I wanted/needed. I was so thankful to have this team behind me on such an important day.

PRICING: As I mentioned, this venue is pricey. To rent the venue it is about 7K and then you have to tack on bartender fees (per guest), catering fees (you are required to use their onsite caterer), rentals (per guest), service fees if you are having a flip/day of coordinator/fire place being lit etc. It will get pricey, but again, in my experience, it was WORTH every penny. I am glad they do not cut corners.

FOOD: We had butter chicken, green beans, and macaroni. People are still talking about the food. It was the best chicken and macaroni I have ever had. I expected the chicken to be dry and just mediocre…it was not. It was amazing. We did buffet style and because of the way they execute the food distribution it did not feel like a buffet at all. Guests exit out the front and come In the side door with food, one table at a time. We got our food first and I didn’t even notice other tables getting up to get food. It seemed to happen so fast but wasn’t a disruptive at all.

CAKE: We were not impressed with the cupcakes when we went for selections day. The baker was also unexpectedly out so that could have been part of the issue. We decided to use an alternate vendor for our cupcakes and ceremony cake.

VENUE: Pictures taken at this venue/our wedding are currently being used as many of our guest’s social media profile pics. Girls, you get this. Totally insta-worthy. The venue and the grounds are BEAUTIFUL. Our guests walked the grounds during cocktail hour – sat by the fire place, admired the vineyard and the landscaping. From the moment I walked into Ramble Creek I knew I wanted to get married there. Buck showed us around and graciously answered all of our questions. We sat down with him and went over all of Ramble’s guidelines and he provided us with a very detailed price-breakdown of our anticipated services. From the beginning they were nothing but transparent and super helpful in bringing our wedding vision to life. The venue itself is so naturally beautiful that it really doesn’t need a lot of ‘sprucing up’ compared to a lot of other places. The property has so much to offer beyond the grand hall which was another deciding factor for us. We knew that we wanted our ceremony outside; we had a cigar bar around the fire place, and utilized the lower lawn for giant yard games for our guests to play during the reception. Once we decided to book the venue I primarily worked with Jenny to get our plans set in motion. I can’t even tell you how many emails back and forth we had, but Jenny was a dream to work with and answered every question I could think of down to the tiniest details. Leading up to the wedding I felt very confident that the day would be perfect because Ramble Creek had been so easy to coordinate with. All of the food and bartending service was through them which made it even easier to have fewer vendors. If you’re a couple who are looking for a more inclusive venue then this is the place for you – they offer so many services in house that it will make your planning process a breeze! A few weeks before the wedding I was introduced to our venue director Megan who served as our point of contact on the big day. While we had a coordinator for our ceremony and flow of events, Megan was SO incredibly helpful. She made sure that everything got set up in its place, and even helped keep me calm when it started to rain during our outdoor ceremony. I was worried about how all the transitions would go, but Megan and her staff handled everything with ease and made the night go by seamlessly. She really is such a sweetheart and genuinely wants to make your day as stress-free and enjoyable as possible! On the actual wedding day I felt like I had to hardly worry about a thing and could just enjoy myself while getting ready. I wish I could relive the day over and over in part because of the dedicated work that the staff of Ramble Creek did for us. I can’t speak highly enough to their level of service and dedication to helping couples make their wedding dreams come true. Weddings are of course about the love that two people share, but having a venue that pulls all the details together certainly helps! Ramble Creek went above and beyond our expectations, and I’m sure they will...

To say my wedding at Ramble Creek was a dream would be an understatement. We booked the venue with Jenny about a year before our wedding, and everything leading up to the day was phenomenal. The venue itself is breath-taking, the food is 5-star, and the service is just top-notch. We had a variety of appetizers (charcuterie board, shrimp and grits station, etc.), multiple entrees (filet mignon, scallops, chicken, numerous appetizers), as well as a catered bridal luncheon and grooms luncheon on the day of the wedding. Gosh, i'm still dreaming about the food and I think our guests are too! They won't stop talking about it :) As far as the day of, we had the venue to ourselves the Friday beforehand for a rehearsal, then on the actual Saturday of the wedding, we arrived around 9am to start getting ready. Everything that day was so smooth that I really don't see how it could've gone any better. We had a day-of coordinator, and she was an angel. Anything we needed, she was on top of it. Our initial plan was to have the ceremony outside, and the reception inside, but it POURED literally all day, so they set up the ceremony inside, and it was stunning. We had draperies and twinkling lights, and the sun was shining through the windows right at the moment we started the ceremony. Afterwards, we had guests on the patio for a cocktail hour (we had an open bar), and Ramble Creek handled the flip service of setting everything up for the reception. We had about 140 guests, with round tables, and the two long farmhouse tables for the wedding party. Everything except our band was handled by Ramble Creek as one of the services they offer, and they truly are the best of the best. We were supposed to also have a sparkler send-off at 10:30pm, but since it was raining, we had it earlier for picture's sake, and that also was very smooth, and stress-free. Jenny and Buck are amazing, and became more like friends (especially after our tequila shots together!) We are truly SO, so grateful to everyone at Ramble Creek for making this the best days...
