Waterfalls in AR…when there’s water! 📍Schoolhouse Falls Located in the Lost Corner general area (north of Morrilton), it’s a short and simple hike to see this one. Largely following an old forest road and then ATV trail, you’ll pass over a smaller fall just above Schoolhouse – and maybe find the bonus fall a few hundred feet downstream while you’re here. At just over a mile each way, this would be an easy hike for most. Look for pin 28 on our kid-friendly Falls in AR Map. Fantastic area. I was not expecting this much beauty. We followed directions from Ricks Hiking blog, very accurate. The dirt road he mentions turning on at the Austin Trailhead is only for higher clearance vehicles. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and had no problem, yet lower riding cars will bottom out. We parked at the area on the ATV trail where people have apparently camped. There is the main falls, a few smaller ones, a rock chute area with another waterfall. Very nice. I'm sure the recent rains helped. Also, we saw a black bear and her two cubs, she was not happy to see us, yet we left her alone. She huffed at us yet did not otherwise seem aggressive. That being said, be careful. We were there yesterday, 5/23/21.

Short hike, kid, and dog friendly! It's definitely a hidden gem here in Arkansas! ( From me anyway ) 🤣 Wish I would have found this long ago! No cell service out there so there are no interruptions from the outside world!
