Read moreGorgeous park, in its infancy. I was bummed to see the front row of the parking lot covered in shattered auto glass when I arrived for my maiden exploration. Walked East, under a fantastic shade- providing sculpture, to the pavilion with bathrooms, picnic tables, and charcoal grills. There's an expansive multi-use blacktop path leading South that looks like it could be fun if the day comes where walkability doesn't very abruptly end 50 feet North of the park entrance. I didn't follow it because I realize I left two empty reusable shopping bags and a month old half drank plastic bottle of water in my car. Instead I continued East, so I could keep an eye on it. Up a short rise with magnificent pine trees to reveal a manicured meadow suitable for football, the other football, or any ball sports. Adjacent to that is a cute and modern (but small) playground. Past that is the reservoir, ringed with a concrete path and dotted with benches. To the Northeast, an untouched field with native grasses. Farther north there was more to explore, the whole park just looks gorgeous and serene, but there's two quarters and a nickel in my center section I...
Read moreThis is a beautiful park. The landscape is great and I love the detailed maps alongside the paths. The playground is small but nice and the eating area ok. Ofcourse they have areas for sport etc. The parking lot is very vast, even have some privacy spots for those who don't want to park near others. however please note. Do Not Go when the temperature is in the 90's or early 100.. with no chance of rain or cloud cover.. if you do you must come prepared with pre hydration, plenty of water, gatoradw. umbrella, sunblock, towels, etc. I had two sweat rags. One for swapping away the bugs.. the other to wipe off sweat.. By the end of the walk both towels were drenched, we'd drink 3 bottles of water each and still felt so lethargic. The sun was no joke. Although, there's a lot of trees, you feel exposed. You think it's shade around the corner and nope it just open. I didn't see any hiking trails with tree covering. Don't forget your asthma pump. One of those hills are made for going down. Good help this whom attempt to run, walk or bike in the opposite direction. I'll go again but this time I will find a wooded trail...
