Nice and quiet trails. From this entry point, there are two paths, one a little off beaten and a main one that is clear, wide, and smooth. Nice scenery, tree covered-paths, open fields, and an epic overlook to see downtown Denton in the distance.

Went a bit further afield today. Enjoyed being out in the country. It was a good 5 mile walk. Saw a historic bridge from the 1920’s. No shade on the path so glad we were here in January. Wish we could have seen more glimpses of the river.

It was a nice peaceful walk. Trail is gravel and there isn't much to look at. So the walk can seem never ending

A great place for a day hike. This trail is especially great for the beginning hiker because it is level and the entire path is gravel. The path includes shaded forests and open prairie. If you are up for a bit more scenery and some uneven terrain, there is also an equestrian trail. Round trip from the access point at FM 455 to FM 428 is approximately 9 miles. At the time of this post the portion of the trail between FM 428 and US...

Needs maintenance. Hasn't recovered from the flooding a few years ago. Trail itself is in ok condition. Facilities need general maintenance and cleaning. Stairs to the river are unstable for launching water craft and the trail is still closed south of the center trailhead down to 380. The day we hiked down here there was a person barefoot, red in the face and wringing his hands asking for a ride and pestering people. Not sure how...

I typically use the 428 trial head. There are a few picnic tables, not much else. The river is the star of the greenbelt for me. Overall, Good spot for biking, hiking or kayaking away from the hustle and bustle of the DFW metroplex while not requiring a full day outting--about 20 minutes from downtown Denton (square also a great stop when you're done with your outdoor adventure).

Trail heads offers lots of parking...
