Texas tulip farm is the largest tulip farm in texas. It's the prettiest farm in texas. This place is a flower lovers' haven.
It will be open from February 24th until the end of the season, which is typically late March or early April. There is an entrance fee of 5$, which we pay by card or cash, and for veterans and seniors, it would be 7.50$. This price includes three tulip stems. For professional photographers, it would be 25$. Parking is free. Pets are not allowed in the field. Outside food is not allowed at Tulipsfarm. There are concession stands where you can buy snacks such as chips, candy, soda, and more. There are multiple port-a-restrooms right by the entrance to Texas Tulips.
You are encouraged to pick the tulips (and you pay for what you like). Each stem would cost 2.50$. They will help your Tulip stems from being placed into a bouquet in a small plastic bag with flower gel. You then choose which color of tissue paper you’d like your stem to need to be wrapped up.
Even if it hasn’t rained, dress accordingly in shoes you don’t mind getting dirt on! The ground is muddy. It is incredibly windy! Because of the wide-open space, Avoid short flowy dresses. Sunglasses are a must, or a hat protects your skin and eyes. Weekdays are the best time to find fewer crowds; On an hourly basis, visiting earlier in the afternoon is usually better to avoid crowds. Weekends would be super crowded; please be patient with the parking.
Mid march is the best time to see all the...
Read moreHORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!With at most disappointment and sadness I am writing this review. We went to this place with great expectation along with my friends and 2.5 year daughter only to find a small farm with very limited set of flowers . As we started walking we could find some bulbs lying on the ground and my daughter picked up one from them. Suddenly the owner came from no where and showed her hatred towards us by giving a statement that some national's come here only to take pictures not to buy flowers and what ever is picked needs to go to the billing counter by pointing the one which was in my daughter's hand. We agreed to that and continued our picking and collected almost 10-12 flowers, including the one that was in my daughter's hand and made the payment for all of them. Till the billing counter she was following us as if we were thieves whom she had caught red handed. At the billing counter the owner was yelling at us when we questioned her by asking why she made such a statement about our national's and were asked to clear out by telling that our 2.5 year old daughter should behave properly and she was even cursing her. Strange!! Altogether it was such a pathetic place to spend your valuable time and money only to find such an arrogance and extreme bad behavior. Flowers are supposed to be pure and its a symbol of happiness and joy , and we did not want to carry the hatred to our home so we left the flowers on their...
Read moreBeautiful and wonderful. We visited Tuesday during spring break. We arrived around 11:45am and there was a short line (maybe 8 people?). 6$ entrance fee for everyone (cash or card). (Babies under 1 year are free) Parking looked ominous when we pulled in, but we drove all the way to the front and got a spot right near the entrance. The farm is quite large and there were so many beautiful varieties. They even had a small row of irises! I couldn’t decide! It wasn’t muddy, but take boots just in case. There were probably 10 porta-potties. What to expect: You walk in, grab a basket and read the sign on how to pick the tulips. Wander and pick to your heart’s desire. Then, take your flowers to one of the 4 “huts” where an employee trims your flowers, puts the stems in a baggie of gunk to keep them fresh (for up to 8 hrs) and then wraps them in a tissue color of your choice. You pay at this time with cash or card. They recommend discarding the “gunk baggie” when you get home, then changing the cold water daily in your vase for extended longevity. It was getting quite crowded when we left about an hour later. It’s Spring break, so this is probably the most crowded they get! But it didn’t feel overwhelming and was so much fun. What a great excuse to get outside in...
