Took the Lake Clementine trailhead from North Fork to the dam. It was 2.3 miles of moderate hike (4.6 round trip). I brought my 8-year old daughter and it was about 95 degrees. There were enough shady spots along the way to provide cover. Bring extra water though. The last 1/2 mile is not dirt trail; it is a one lane asphalt road that is very steep and there are cars. If not for this road, I would have given it 5 stars. Our favorite part was stopping for a picnic and swim on the way back out. We had lots of very calm spots to choose from and the water was pretty warm. We saw 4 deer and took lots of pictures with the dam, the river, and the foothill bridge. So bring ready to eat food. You can bring your canopies. I don't recommend driving a small vehicle or a very low vehicle due to the terrain. They have portable bathrooms and they are clean. Swimming is allowed and other water activities too. Keep in mind there is no cellphone reception. Take your garbage with you. Remember there are rattle sneaks.
