This place really seems wonderful. But unfortunately, the incident that occurred yesterday left me only leaving 3 stars. My husband and I took our 2 year old granddaughter fishing here. As we were loading up the car to leave my husband noticed DNR staring and watching us. We were confused as we were doing nothing wrong. Immediately after pulling out of the parking spot she exited her vehicle approaching us “I know you’re not about to drive off with an opened can of Michelob beer with a toddler in the car.” I was so confused. I picked up the can of WILD CHERRY PEPSI that was in the console of my car. Which at that point the DNR officer looked relived and possibly embarrassed for making such an accusation. I still am so confused on how she even seen it in my car? I truly felt a sort of harassment. There were so many families at the beach, kids swimming in underwear, whiskey bottles on hoods of vehicles (beach doesn’t even open until...

I cannot praise the Campground & staff/ DNR enough for my amazing stay for the Eclipse! Immaculately kept campgrounds. We stayed in site 55 . Running water bathrooms along with shower stalls. The battery died on my van & I went to the helpful campground host. Before I got back to my site ( about one minute later 😂) Two young adult DNR employees were there with a hand held battery/ car charger. They jumped my van under five minutes with zero money owed along with the most professional young men. We also visited the live raptor exhibit. So well kept along with the rest of the park. I’m horrible at names! The sweetest lady in the office helped us get awesome information on the raptors & the entire park along with any & all awesome eclipse information! We watched the Eclipse at Hardy Lake. Just WOW! Thank you Hardy Lake for such an amazing experience! Christine (Boo) Wisniewski & son Dieter...

We visited the last weekend of April and were very impressed with the staff and facilities. We stayed in primitive and it's quite hilly. We requested a different site since our chosen site didn't have a flat spot except for the parking space for our boat and truck. They kindly suggested an open site that was less sloped. I'm glad it wasn't sold out. Then, we had some problems with our boat and Niles kindly stepped up to help us. How kind! You'd think we have never camped with our need to have staff help us after 35 years of camping and not ever needing assistance--we again needed help the next morning as our truck wouldn't start. So, glad the staff warmly assisted us by jumping our truck! WE WILL return as we appreciated the great staff, the clean facilities and beautiful lake. The only thing that would be a topper would have been to catch more than one fish for...

I have been going here since I was a kid in the 80's. The place hasn't changed much. The grass areas are always mowed, the beach was clean and nice. My kids loved the water and the play sets up on top the hill from the beach. They have built in grills near the picnic tables and by the beach. No need to waste space in your own vehicle bringing your grill. Out of 6 of us. I am the only one who ended up with a leach on my foot. I blame that on going into the deep and having my feet in the mud at the bottom. But out of 30 years of going here. I have only had one leach on me. That was in 2016. Its a lake, they all have leaches. Great place to stay for the day and/or camp. Small fee at the gate to get into the beach.

Has an amazing beach for summer swimming, hiking, exploring, and cooking out! Water is pretty nice and clean and not real mucky on your feet! Got a few trails that have a great lakeside view. Private pull offs with grills to cook on. Hiking trails are easily accessible and not too rough on the feet or body. All in all Hardee lake has much more to offer, especially if you have a boat, but it's a great place for those who don't as well. Highly recommended! Great for the whole family! Two thumbs up 👍👍

We really enjoyed our time at Hardy Lake. Having a state park pass (annual membership for $50 to get into parks is well worth the investment). The lake didn't get too crowded and the weather was perfect each time we went. The restrooms were open and had soap! We kept our distance from people even in the water. The temperature was amazing. You can grill, play st the park, have a picnic (small beach looking area), build sand castles.... Had so much fun!!!!
