I will say this, these are nice fields to play on. Now that I have said that much. It is utterly ridiculous that these fields are completely open and unused! Maybe if they had the city running the adult softball league instead of a private corporation they could have more teams out here every night of the week. I came out here on a Tuesday evening on March 12, 2024. It’s 8:25 PM. The only thing that is going on at this park right now is soccer. I think that the city of Del Valle should take these fields over for adult softball! I looked at the website for the people in charge of this and they said that the game started last week which would be March 5, 2024. I wasn’t able to make it out here last week but judging from the fact that only one field out of four field is chalked! That leads me to believe that the last time this field was played was last Thursday night which would’ve March 7, 2024. I don’t know what to expect from this in the future this particular park would really like to reach out to me and I can help set up a better league than what this private corporation is doing. This corporation is charging $70 for a free agent. Which leads me to believe that you have to pay the $70 you may not even get on a team and who knows how long the $70 last they were not very cooperative over email so I basically gave up and said the heck with it I’ll just show up at the field and see what happens. I TRULY HOPE THAT THE CITY OF VALLEY TAKES THIS FIELD AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND BRINGS IT BACK TO THE CITY BECAUSE $1000 A SEASON TO PLAY THIS FIELD IS ABSURD ON SO MANY LEVELS. THIS IS COMING FROM A GUY WHO WOULD PAY TO PLAY IN CALIFORNIA FROM 2001 TO 2015! I hope this helps people in the future because I will not change my review of this park until somebody who can make a difference contact me.

Dinosaur playground: New playground, great for the little ones and older kids too! Lots of climbing opportunities, picnic tables, parking lot, shade and trees. About three small barbecue grills in this area. Close to the entry of the nature trail. Restrooms are available, could be a bit cleaner but Ok ish condition. I didn't see drinking water available, bring your own. It doesn't look like this area is connected to the fields on the other side of the park by foot (kind of far to walk, didn't see a trail), but most likely you'll get to the park driving anyway, so that's ok. Park: The park has a nature trail, a new dinosaur playground, lots and lots of soccer, basketball and baseball fields, a huge parking lot, two ponds/ water features, and a small playground next to a pavilion area with lots of picnic tables (and I think a grill?) that says it can be rented.

The “primitive” trail is my favorite trail in Austin. I wish it was longer (only about 2.3 miles) but it will provide anyone with a challenge. As maintenance is deliberately minimal to avoid interference with nature, it can get a bit overgrown but it’s always easy to follow. There are rattle snakes - you’ll occasionally hear them but they’ll leave alone as long as you don’t do anything stupid and stay on the path. I’ve only seen one once in the dozens of times I’ve hiked this trail. There are lots of birds, flowering plants, and other wildlife to look at. I would not recommend this trail for small children or anyone with mobility or knee issues. It’s very angular and there are some fairly steep paths. It’s by no means a Rocky Mountain trail but for a flatland urban trail it’s challenging.
