This place is awesome! The fish are stocked every week, the grilling areas are convenient & plentiful, the bathrooms were clean & well kept, the playground area was a blast for the kids, & the skate park was kind blowing! We have 5 kids, 7-12, & they all love it. We can't wait for the splash pad in summertime! There's even hiking trails that we can't wait to check out. Plus, it's so close to low-mid income neighborhoods. It gives the kids someplace safe, fun, & positive to be that keeps them out of trouble. Thank you City of Avondale/Goodyear (whoever is responsible) for this great apron to the community! Our communities need more places like this, healthy environments for children, young adults, & families to enjoy!!
FYI, Fish & Game regularly patrols the area multiple times a day, every day of the week, so be sure you have your fishing licences unless you're a kid 10 or younger! We have 4 10 & under so it wasn't an issue but it's a good heads up....

Really well made skatepark, all the concrete was smooth and level. Good variety of obstacles in the street sections. None of the obstacles are too tall or big, so I'd say it's a good place to learn and improve your skills. However there isnt a whole lot of room to stand while you wait to ride a spot. The rocks and dirt are a little bit of their own danger when you over shoot your landing, so be cautious.
The pump track is a ton of fun, not too long but after a few laps you really feel it in your legs.. I was noticing the whoops and rollers are just the right shape that the skateboarders were not scrapping when they pump them. The asphalt is smooth but still slightly coarse so wear pants, a helmet, gloves in case of a fall, and maybe a long...
Read moreIt has different stuff to keep kids busy but there isn't much grass or trees. There is a lot of concrete and metal which is gonna get very hot in the summer. They also need to work on the fishing lake. They have shaded/covered places to sit/stand while you are fishing which is nice. But there were dead fish floating all over the top of the water and didn't see any live ones. Everything that is in the underwater planters is dead too. It seems like the chemicals or whatever in the water aren't right. Since the entire reason we went was to fish closer to home we were very disappointed. There was a gentleman from AZ game & fish there looking at things. He was very nice and very helpful. So it looks like they are trying to figure out what the problem is so they can fix it. Which is good. Will have to go back once it is fixed and see...
