Official Myrtle Beach Welcome Center — Attraction in Aynor

We have been stopping at this WELCOME Center several times over the past 3 years. It usually has free slushies and popcorn, clean bathrooms and hundreds of brochures to the attractions, stores and restaurants in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding areas. Coupon books and maps are also available. The reason I could only leave 2 stars was because of my last visit on June 29. My sister was having a hard time walking in due to a cramp that started when she got out of the car. She sat on a bench next to the door and smoked while I went on to use the bathroom. Right as I was exiting the bathroom area, I was approached by a time share salesman. He had tried to talk to me during our last visit. Even though I kept telling him I was not interested, he was so persistent and was following us around until we finally gave up and just left. This time was no exception. When he approached, I immediately said that my sister was sitting outside with a cramp and I didn't have time. So I went out and helped my sister into the bathroom exaggerating that it was worse so I would not have to look at him. When we came out, he looked like a hunter ready to capture his prey!!😅 We were cornered with no place to go. My sister is already a diamond member with Blue Green, a large timeshare company. As he approached, I simply said, "Not interested, we already are members of a time share." Then he kept following us, asking which company, blah blah blah. Then he said you can still get a free dinner, blah blah blah. He was even trying to talk as we were getting in our car!! Oh I forgot there was no popcorn and only 1 kind of slushy. The bathrooms were very dirty as well. The other 3 workers were just standing or sitting around on their phones the whole time. WE WILL NOT BE STOPPING HERE AGAIN. I may try again in the future and I will change the rating...

Be careful. They will tell you they want to see if they have money/discounts for you. They ask for your ID and then do a soft pull of your credit. If you don't qualify for their @wyndham vacations package, they will tell you there is no money alloted for your state. If you don't want them to pull your credit, don't give them your ID. They are scammers that pull you in with free snacks then do a credit check without telling you. We visited on 05/19/25 on they way to Mrtyle Beach,SC. They person that took our IDs were nice but the issue came when i asked to be removed from their system. We realized what they were doing and the manager was called out. The manager began to argue stating my husband had an attitude. We were just calmy trying to understand their process and inquire about not being told about their true intent. The manager blamed his arguing on him having a bad day. We informed him that we were not the reason for his earlier issues. He eventually apologized but it all still felt very violating. I don't want to place names here but Wyndham, please do better! Be honest about your practices. Most ppl don't mind if you tell them what...

Stopped here Wednesday on way to beach and the ice cream machine was down for cleaning. I asked if it would be working for Saturday on our return trip and wad told yes. We stopped at 330pm Saturday and saw someone eating ice cream cone and I asked for ice cream and the man said there is no ice cream but I could get coffee or soda. I said no thanks that there was also no ice cream last time we came and that is all we came for. This place is a let down. Their coffee is bad too. I am so upset they lie and say free soft serve and have signs everywhere but don't actually offer it most the time. Lies to get you to go there and buy time shares. Never trust a liar. Update stopped there again son may 27, 2023 to give them another chance, they were still not serving ice cream and said they think the machine broke down yesterday.
