We had our 5 year old's birthday party at the Dinosaur Land off of 199 yesterday. He is super into dinos right now so it was right up his alley. The website makes it super easy to book. The party room is full of dinosaur statues on static display. The birthday table is set up for you and they provide and serve pizza and a drink of your choice for 16 guests. You get one hour at the birthday table to do pizza, cake (provided by you) and presents if you choose (we did not, as little kids don't like to watch other kids get gifts) There is a baby dino that comes out to sing happy birthday and another Q and A dino that comes out to talk to the kids with plenty of photo ops. Then after the hour, you are lead to the second building through the forrest trail that has a bounce house and tons of table games and a play kitchen/hospital. There is a dinosaur that they can ride for a photo op and more babies that come out to talk to the kids and interact. You have unlimited time in this area. The only thing we were unable to do due to the weather was the outside walking trail and petting zoo, so I can't speak to that portion. The only thing I will say that I wish was different was how they do their pricing. The price of the party is $250, with $150 deposit. No problem. Then when you check out, if there is any extra guests, you can choose to let them pay for themselves or add them onto your bill. The hitch is, they count EVERYONE that comes to your party... every parent, every sibling, (except under two I think) whether they eat or not, whether they are late or not. Some of our guests brought both parents and siblings (which was great and were happy they all were there) so just keep that in mind when booking. They said they will be adding some more features as time goes on, and it will be a place to take the kids in the summer to hang out if the weather is bad. You can just go to see the dinos and play, no party required. All in all I would say this was a great experience...
Read moreAfter reading the other less than 5 star review, it looks like I’m going to a rude and unprofessional reply for my honest review, but here goes.
The good: My 4 year old loved it. $14 is a very reasonable price for a child. He loved playing with the kitchen, vet office, and train set.
The dinosaurs are obviously very new. All of them work and they do a great job of keeping people from destroying them.
The young girls working there are very polite, especially the one in the 2nd building. She made sure the kids got to see and interact with the baby dinos.
It’s a locally owned business and not a corporation.
Everything I saw was very clean.
The bad: $18 for adults is overpriced. At that price I expect a park as large as the one in Glen Rose which coincidentally charges the same price. I expected the walk through the forest to be a lot longer.
While my child loved it, he had played with every and was ready to go home after an hour.
For $1 you get very little feed for the goats and the containers are very easy to spill out of. A Dixie cup would work better.
One of the reasons I chose the day I did was because of a FB event that said the Grinch would be there all day until 9pm. We were there a little over an hour and the Grinch wasn’t. In fact, I probably wouldn’t have went at all if I hadn’t seen the event posted.
The first thing you see when you walk in is a sign saying there’s a limit of 2 beers per adult. There is no reason beer should be served at all at a CHILDREN’S MUSEUM.
I hope that this place continues to grow and expand to provide a place for families to enjoy in our community. Everyone has different expectations and experiences when they try a new place. For me, this one was very disappointing. I did learn a good lesson though…research first and make sure I’m not overpaying to watch my child play. For now we will be traveling to Dinosaur World in Glen Rose or the interactive Mayborn...
Read moreThe only regret I have is not spending more time. I booked for 3 Pm. I had to beg my toddler to leave at closing time 2 hours later. The inside dinosaurs were amazing, and we came at the best time! It being close to Halloween there were decorations EVERYWHERE! My baby loved it, and I did too! The outside part was so cool. There’s an amazing bridge, it goes straight to animals, and you would never guess it’s off the highway. You get to feed the animals, and we even got to pet some when the Amazing employee brought them out for my daughter to pet and play with. We got into the second building and there were so many activities even I played…happily. Rock climbing, legos, hospital play, cafe play, a small playset with slides, and an indoor sandbox! The soman working interacted with us and had “baby dinosaurs” for her to pet and play with. Ny baby was obsessed! She let her “feed” it from the cafe area and was so patient, my daughter is still talking about meeting a baby Dino. When we finally got to the last building (princess!) the employee setup the dragon to blow smoke, and even let my toddler press the buttons to make it smoke. It was SO. CUTE. A mermaid, dragons, dolls, amazing selection of dollhouses, and an area with dolls on display. The display had every culture of princesses, it was so inclusive and beautiful. The best part was the employees and how helpful and involved they were. Literally the sweetest women I’ve ever met. We will be back for all the holiday events they informed us of, including a pumpkin patch!! Looking at the websites I thought it would be hit or miss, but this was an amazing experience. As a parent with a toddler there’s not many places you get this excited to go back to that they love. Definitely book early, you can stay all day!! The employees truly make it an amazing experience and I could not be more grateful and pleased. They...
