I received the following text today from Parker County Beef:
“Can you confirm that James Holman is your sub customer/other half for ear tag #1”
I have no clue who this James person is and we currently do not have any cattle there for processing. I called PCBC and they referred to me as some customer with a last name as “Carlile”. I have no clue who these 2 referenced current customers are…… So, if your last name is Carlile or you are James, you might want to check your order. Sounds to me like it is going to be really screwed up.
Had our 2nd head of cattle processed with them on Sept. 8, 2025. They do not give us the live weight of our steer this time. They gave us a live weight back in April on our 1st head we took in. We called the afternoon of Sept. 8th to get the hanging weight and was told he weighed 1019 lbs, but when we picked up the meat on Sept 27th, they said his hanging weight was 735 lbs. Our steer was under our name, not an ear tag so they had to go the computer to give us his hanging weight. When we asked about the weight difference, they told us they mistakenly gave us the wrong weight. If you look your customer up in the computer, how do you give the wrong weight? I gave the lady the name it was under. We listed that we wanted the oxtail on our original cut sheet that we filled out at drop off. We did not receive the oxtail, we were shorted 1 bone in ribeye and 1 New York Strip. When we asked about those 3 cuts of meat, the owner told us those 3 pieces were contaminated. Why was that not notated on the final pick up sheet? Why would there be 23 New York Strip listed, but only received 22? Why would there be 16 ribeye listed, but only received 15? The final pick up sheet is to show what the customer is receiving. If the customer does not receive it, it should not be listed. They did not list the oxtail on the final sheet because they said it was contaminated. So if the 2 cuts of steak were contaminated, why were they left on the final sheet. Why did they not let us know about the 3 contaminated cuts when we picked up? We put a-lot of work and care into our cattle to be shorted this way. We also asked for all of the fat at drop off and were not told that they now only give the customer the fat around the kidneys. We will no longer be using them. If you use them, I recommend you open your boxes in front of them at pick up and...
Read moreI stumbled across PCBC online late last year and couldn't wait to give them a try. We still had about a 1/4 cow in the deep freeze so I waited. Somehow early this year my family started to eat more and more cross cut ribs (tablitas). Because of this, I used our newfound love as reason enough to order PCBC. I ordered a half dozen or so packs of ground beef to see what the fuss is all about and 8 orders of tablitas.
My takeaway...
I was REALLY impressed with their shipping and packaging!!! I know they take a lot of pride in their packaging and they absolutely should. Every single piece of beef was absolutely rock solid!!
I am also happy to report that the ground beef was fantastic. My wife said it's her favorite beef. For me, not only did it taste great, but I also enjoyed the packaging vs the chubs. Those squares stack and defrost so much easier that way.
As for the tablitas, the site stated each package is 2+ lbs of tablitas. Out of the 8 packages I ordered NOT A ONE was 2 lbs, let alone over 2lbs. Most averaged 1.5lbs and a few under 1.3. That was a bummer. If I go to a steak house and order a 16oz ribeye, they can't give me a 12oz and think it's ok.
Due to this I was going to give 3 stars, but again, I was really impressed with the packaging and more importantly I 1000% appreciate the special book inside the order 🙏🏾 We never know who we may or may not come across in business or life but we are to always be the salt and the light. You definitely earned a star back for the "good news."
If you're looking for good quality beef,...
Read moreThey do have good ground beef. Didn't get around to trying anything else. However the reason I am writing this review is because of the unprofessional customer service. A few months back I purchased some beef sticks for my husband and my youngest boy. Upon actually looking more at them after we got home I found out their was red dye in the beef sticks. I don't allow my children to have dyes. Either way no biggie my husband ate them. However when I found out they got two new beef sticks released after opening their processing, I commented on that post asking if they would be dye free so I could re purchase for my son. Comment DELETED. Didn't think anything of it because I thought maybe it didn't post, maybe my internet was acting wacky whatever. Posted comment again.DELETED.Commented again asking why such a simple question kept getting deleted...I would have continued to buy the ground beef even if the beef sticks continued to have dyes in them. That just meant 1 couldn't purchase those. However they then blocked me! I tried calling them, no answer the voicemail said text is easier. So I texted, 1 received a message back saying they would look into it because they have a software that monitors the page. Okay thank you. Nothing after that. Messaged back no reply Sent an email no reply. Any other time it would have been an almost immediate or next day response. Why can you not answer questions about...
