Shady Grove Park — Attraction in Azle

Nice clean park that is all maintained. I was there during a weekday and there were several workers cleaning the restrooms, picking up trash, and maintaining the grass.

The lake is down now but is good for a kayak. You can also hike or walk around the lake.

The picnic area by the lake has nice charcoal grills and tables if you want to cook out.

It has a basketball court and a baseball field, and a tennis court, along with an area with swings and other things for children to play on, and a covered area with picnic tables and grills, There are also picnic tables by the lake and under the trees with grills by them.

The playground equipment at the park was great!! My daughter is 3 1/2 and had an amazing a great time. It looks bigger that what it really has to offer though but it was fun. Wood chips to run on and several swings. The lake was fun too! The sand was fairly clean, mostly mixed with pieces of wood and a little duck poop. The water felt good! There is not much shade, so bring your own or have plenty of sun screen. There was trash spread around that looks like some idiot just mowed over. This park has the potential to be a 5 star park. It would be wonderful if visitors would clean up their own !!!! However the majority do not. It would also be wonderful if the city of Azle, Would in fast in some fire ant pest control. Considering that the majority of visitors do not clean up their own trash, the city of Azlel should also consider controlling that. I'm really not sure why the visitors that just leave their trash around, do so considering that, there are trash cans plentiful.
