My husband and I 1000% loved this boat tour! Our boat ride to the lighthouse was so nice… the captain, was so friendly and personable, and so were the ladies that got our tickets for us.. Here is the part that I truly appreciated: We are Canadians and my husband I planned this trip and were so excited… the day before our trip my husband found an abused and abandoned beagle cross on the road… I took her to vet and got her clear to travel because she needed to take meds and I didn’t trust anyone to follow the strict regime… the Lighthouse tour does NOT allow dogs!! They informed us that they would never allow this again but they made an exception as long as we carried our new baby the whole time. We were so touched and blessed that we still got to have our lighthouse experience due to their kindness. They get 100 stars from us. The lighthouse was beautiful and definitely should be one...

The (volunteer) guides are full of interesting tidbits on the lighthouse and surrounding community, and are passionate about their lighthouse. The lighthouse itself is uniquely built and not a style I’d visited in Michigan before. You must take a short boat ride to reach the lighthouse, and it was as delightful as the tour of the lighthouse. Both our lighthouse guides and the boat crew were more than willing to help take memorable photos too! I would not suggest the tour for small children or people with mobility issue as the stairs within the lighthouse are quite steep.
