First timer writing review for first timers. I had a hard time finding info that I needed and when we got there we had a hard time with parking so figured this would maybe help someone else. You need to purchase a trail pass. We got ours at Eldorado outpost. Great store, has basically anything, food and gas. Pass is $5 for day or $30 for season. We parked at a different trail head but I’d recommend parking at “rocking mountain parking” off “Dutch John road”. Much more parking there, we road by it on trail. We got there at 10 and it was getting busy. Get there early.
Helmets are “required” but nobody checks. Roads and trails were very dusty. Trails were very rocking and a lot of humps. I have a stock 6 seat defender and we got through everything but it was rough. I bottomed out on a lot of the humps and was beating up skid plate. Several very rocky areas to get through. I made it through but wouldn’t do it again. Not my thang and not trying to break machine. One guy in a four runner actually backed out and said it was too much for him. So there’s some rough spots even on the “moderate” trails. Place seems better for your jeep vehicles. More sport SxSs wouldn’t have a problem either. Stock utility you get beat up. Good amount of trails, could easily ride them all day. Couple spots were backed up from jeeps wanting to rock crawl. Was dry as hell, couple mud holes but not many. Not much hills. Somewhere to go but better places for side by side and it showed. Mostly jeep like vehicles there....
Read moreHad a great time on the Rubicon 520. I got to ride all the trails except 390 and I used just over half tank of gas. I never had to put it in 4 wheel drive since I was able to simply go around things I wanted to avoid being smaller than say a jeep. It's a mixture of ruts, rocks, and water breaks like most mountain trails. $30 pass for the season can be picked up on the way in at the local...
Read moreFirst time here, cool trails. I was a little skeptical but took my new rig based on some YouTube videos and it was fine, did the easy and few moderate trails just fine with a stock TRD offroad Tacoma. There was one trail closed that was not marked on the maps so I was concerned we wouldn't be able to make it alternate way out and it was rough...
