While the park is nice, some of the Ranger staff was peculiar. When the large field south of the Ranger office bldg was off-limits to all dogs, leashed or not, some time ago, we had a meeting with several Rangers to inform them about the problem of people with dogs on the playing field, where signage indicated no dogs were allowed on the playing field. As we stood talking, a man with a dog came near and then walked right past our group on the field. We were astounded when the Rangers said nothing to the man with the dog. On another occasion, a driver deliberately drove the wrong way in the parking lot near the Rangers' building. There's a baseball field, basket ball court and another huge open field on your left as pull into the parking lot. Definitely recommend showing up early for a BBQ spot as it's quite a popular park.
