Went to Seattle on a business trip. Had a day off, read about the ferry to Bainbridge Island. Driving by and saw the trail, pulled over. Awesome trail. So glad it had a restroom, clean. Nice building with graffiti on it. Met some people in the area they gave me a little history. Good way to see the sun if you're into that. I would go back and watch it rise or set. I may visit again before I leave.

Lovely spot for a weekend walk. Everything from a cute little footbridge over the untroubled waters to the ruins of an old mill, plus very creative graffiti and lots of green in every direction. Circular trail around the pond/lagoon with plenty of trees, shrubs, brambles and even a meadow. Dogs on leashes welcome.

The family and I adventured around the Blakely Harbor Park on New Year’s Day!! It was so peaceful and beautiful! There was even a gathering of people singing in the graffitied building (I think an old generator building). This area was home in the 1800’s to the largest sawmill in the world!!

Wonderful open area on Bainbridge south. Multiple access points lead to different treasures. Good place to launch watercraft for a paddle in Blakely Harbor which is calm and sheltered, or paddle a bit further out and visit Rockaway Beach and Blakely Rock. Stunning views of Seattle including sun and moon rises!

On shore there are many hiking trails including a few picnic tables, benches and decks to chill on. There is a small sandy beach on the south side of the bridge that’s nice for a dip. If you like art and urban industrial vibe be sure to check out the graffiti mill, a historic logging building turned into a playground for musicians and painters. Some people skate in here, but I just don’t see the...

No! It's terrible. Awful! Tourists stay away. ;) So I grew up going to this park. It wasn't a "park" in those days. Where they've put in a trail and a bridge, we used to sit on the old stone pilings, drinking and smoking, on a fine summer day. When we'd had enough to drink we'd dare each other to jump in and swim across to the nice sandy beach on the other side. It was our secret in those pre-cellphone days, which I miss but it's amazing how it's been cared for and made into a proper park for everyone to enjoy now. I'll fondly remember our youthful deviancy and appreciate it now as any middle aged millennial should. I've got my walking shoes on with good...
