Unapologetically awful!! As other reviewers have mentioned the people that run this business are straight up rude.
My partner & I had a wine membership and never did we get asked for our IDs when coming for a tasting. It's obvious that if we have a membership we are over 21 otherwise how else do we have one? Unless they are implying that they give out memberships to minors.
We went in with the intention of buying a bottle for new years & even though they were able to pull up our account and verify our identity the lady working that night decided not to serve us because she "couldnt verify our age". Again, are minors here allowed to hold wine memberships? She sure was implying that by saying our wine membership with them was not enough to verify we are over 21. Ridiculous! How did we sign up in the first place then?
Im not against, asking for an ID, this wouldve been understandable if this was always the case, however having never been rejected in our prior visits, we found it odd and incosistent to say they need our IDs to pour yet it was surprisingly never an issue in the past. I also have a problem when a business does not admit they did anything wrong, instead they front this behavior where it feels like their customer is fighting to be heard! Talk about ghetto customer service.
I wanted to leave a bad review right away after leaving but as a business owner myself, I thought let me reach out & give them the opportunity to make it right. They obviously didnt.
Instead of apologizing and owning up that it's not right to reject serving current members and recognizing their incosistent practices, (if you say an ID needs to be present to pour then have that be the standard across the board) the owner did nothing to offer a resolution or empathize with us! I even pointed out that they didn't even care for our business & Jill didnt deny it.
So then, why would I continue to support a business that treats their customers as if they're not valuable? I'd rather take my money elsewhere! Glad they gave me the opportunity to speak about my negative experience with them, so they can start the new year knowing what they need to improve upon and take some godamn accountability. Nasty customer service. As countless others have said, we will...
Read moreWhen I walked in there were 2 people standing at the serving desk with their glasses, I think tasting there? I'm not sure. Other reviews detail needing to come up to the front for every tasting and I don't really mind that as I'm young and spry but.....as I waited 2 things became evident. I was their youngest patron by easily 30 years (I'm in my 30s), and the guy behind the counter wasn't interested in greeting me. I waited a bit until the older couple (that blew up behind me like their butt hair was on fire as I came through the door) and watched them get greeted, albeit with no warmth or personality. I literally said f*ck it and I need to use the bathroom anyway. I did so. And I reconsidered as every time I get these vibes from a place, my experience is average at best....I also considered the fact that the 3 - 4 groups of patrons present were old enough to be my grandparents and...eh...let's just say I don't feel like being lectured by the boomers on my appearance today, I'd rather relax. Just as well, as by the time I opened the bathroom door, I almost couldn't leave for the crowd in front of me. Good thing the door didn't open outward lol. Anyway, I came to Bainbridge Vineyards which I loved last time, and I do feel as a women owned and run business is far more outgoing and friendly. So here I am, no regrets. Take stock for yourself, but honestly, I wouldn't try again. It sounds like this has been a long-standing issue that's gone unaddressed and I'm not a fan of...
Read moreThis place is a delight; highly recommend stopping by Via Rosa 11 to get some pasta and then a bottle here for the perfect meal. The woman who helped us, Jill, was friendly, funny, and very informative. We enjoyed almost of the wines we tried, though a few seemed to fall flat (specifically the white Mourvedre, which Jill agreed was also her least favorite, and I wasn't too keen on the La Ronde, though it was by no means bad). My husband and I each did a tasting and ended up getting three bottles; the Ratio:Blanco, La Diavola, and LEM. La Diavola wasn't even available on their tasting menu but Jill was kind enough to give us a taste at the end, she spoke very highly of it and we agreed! The location itself was really pretty, in a more forested area away from downtown Bainbridge and the owner is clearly a bicycle enthusiast, with several older bikes hanging in the tasting rooms and information about each posted nearby. It was comfortable and casual, with the wines each priced very fairly. We did get a small discount as well, since we purchased multiple bottles. Very pleasant overall, definitely...
