Spent a morning out at Pathfinder National Wildlife Refuge and it was honestly one of the most peaceful outings I’ve had in a while. Driving through the four separate units around Pathfinder Reservoir you feel like you’ve stepped away from everything. The overlook off Highway 220 was perfect for stretching our legs and spotting birds by the water.
We pulled into Bishops Point Campground and launched a small boat from the ramp, which was a simple setup and no fuss. The scenery is wide open and calming, with sagebrush grasslands framing the view. Saw a lot more than I expected including herons, ducks, and even some pronghorn wandering in the distance. The roads in were a bit rough in places so a vehicle with good clearance was helpful, but it was worth it for how quiet and scenic the place is.
All in all, I’d go back in a heartbeat. If you want a spot to fish, birdwatch, or just breathe in the wild Wyoming air, this place checks...
