A VERY SPECIAL AND VERY SPIRITUAL ENERGY SPOT HIDDEN DEEP IN THE DESERT. I WAS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN A SACRED CEREMONY... I MET MESCALITO AND SAW MANY VISIONS AND LEARNED MANY NEW TRUTHS ABOUT THE FRAGILE CONNECTION I AM LINKED TO. WE ALL ARE. IT IS PART OF OUR HUMANITY, OUR LOT AS MEN. LIFE, Existence, TRUTH, VALUE, BROTHERHOOD, DIRECTION, PURPOSE, AWARENESS, PERCEPTION, LOVE, COMMUNICATION, ATTENTION, UNDERSTANDING, WISDOM, VISION, FEAR, ENERGY, POWER, HARMONY, SPIRIT, WHAT HOLY MEANS, INTERACTIONS WITH MAN AND ALL LIFE, INFINITY AND POSSIBLY EVERYTHING I WAS CERTAIN ABOUT AND EVERYTHING I THOUGHT WERE CERTAINTIES AND ABSOLUTES I HAVE JUST STOOD UP FACE TO FACE WITH. INITIALLY I WAS FIRMLY REJECTING WHAT I WAS BEING SHOWN. BEFORE ME I WAS BEGINNING TO FEEL LIKE MY EXPERIENCES WERE SO REVOLUTIONARY. I RESISTED BY APPLYING LOGIC, FACTS AND SCIENCE TO STRIKE BACK AT ALL THE TEACHINGS AND VISIONS FRACTALING RAPIDLY BEFORE MY EYES, SURROUNDING MYSELF COMPLETELY LIKE A VACUUM IN A SOAP BUBBLE MEMBRANE. THEN BEFORE I RECOGNIZED THE LIGHT, FLUID ENERGETIC HARMONY ENVELOPE THE ENTIRE SURROUNDING ENVIRONMENT THAT SUBTLY SHIFTED EVERYTHING TO PERHAPS A RENEWED LIGHTER, SOMEHOW HIGHER AND PERFECTLY FLUID MORPHED UNVEILED LIGHT SPRING BREEZE TRANSMUTATION... WITH THIS ABSOLUTELY TANGIBLE, VERY REAL SHIFT. CAME A RELAXED AND RENEWED CLARITY FROM WITHIN MYSELF. MY RESISTANCE HAD MELTED AWAY AS IT WAS REPLACED WITH AN Overwhelming AND HARMONIOUS SENSE OF ACCEPTANCE. AS IF I WAS SUDDENLY REMEMBERING OR RECOGNIZING THAT IVE BEEN HERE BEFORE. I ALREADY HAD A Definite UNQUESTIONABLE TOTAL KNOWLEDGE THAT CAME FROM SOMEWHERE IN A REALM OF ONCE BEFORE. ALL I KNOW ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE IS THAT I HAVE BEEN REUNITED WITH TRUTHS KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM FROM AN UNKNOWN PLACE OR MAYBE CONSCIOUSNESS I EXISTED WITHIN ONCE LONG AGO SOMEWHERE OFF ALL THE MAPS IN A PAST I FEEL FAMILIARITY WITH YET I HAVE KNOW KNOWLEDGE OF THIS AT THE SAME TIME... ALL I KNOW IS THIS EXPERIENCE IS NOT OVER. ITS...

The good: great starter cave and off-road drive for those who are looking for a light off-road drive and a short hike to the caves entrance. Beautiful sun rays shine through the caves rooftop openings creating a beautiful look and great photo opportunities. The caves entrance has a pretty steep staircase/ladder, to get into the main part of the cave is a little tight I'm 5'9 and had to bend down almost to a crawl giving the feeling of entering a deep cave.

The Bad: The off-road drive is like driving down railroad tracks, so it is quite bumpy and shaky. The cave itself is only about 100 feet long if that, so if you are expecting a deep cave dive please lower your expectations. Besides some nice light off-roading trails in beautiful views of mountain ranges in the distance there's not much else to see or do around this cave area. There is a neat spaceship shop that serves jerky and novelty tourist items and in my opinion they are slightly overpriced. There are bats in the cave but there are no signs or indicators to let people know that there are bats in this cave.

Other than that this was a truly great experience for me and my family My 10-year-old granddaughter truly enjoyed it this was her first time being in a cave this cave is a great beginner cave is a great beginner off-roading experience but the lack of things to do or maybe even information signs telling people about the formation of the cave or just giving out general information is the only reason why I rate it four stars...

No cell service out here, a perfect day getaway from Vegas!

Please, the staircase is only 1/4 mile, you'll see a marker on the right, do not go beyond, follow it up We went a mile beyond the point and also if you don't see anymore lava rocks on the ground, that means you are way off.

But yeah, come when is the sun is right above for some crafty pics for the Gram.

But download maps for offline. We took the scenic route from I-15 S through Nipton to get here. We tried to be more adventurous to go home by leaving from Lava Tubes to Cima Rd. Went NE taking Aiken Mine Rd, but didn't know what Lava Tubes meant on the map. Saw it as a trail and took it, big mistake. The Honda Pilot took it like a champ going North over lava rocks, but there was an incline that I was sketch about so I decided to retreat back to Aiken Mine Rd.

Going back, there were 3 hikers in the middle of nowhere I thought. I was shocked, how did we miss them? They were nowhere near us. We stopped and talked them, they were lost looking for the lava tubes!

But that would mean that trail we previously got lost on looking for the lava tubes connects. I didn't want backtrack again, so we ventured the Honda Pilot through that crazy, rocky terrain towards the parking lot. There were a few times those 3 hikers caught up to the vehicle as well.

But we ended up taking Aiken Mine Rd back the way we originally came in. Long story short, download...

This was a neat little detour in the middle of the desert that was worth the stop. Coming from Vegas, Google Maps directed us down some narrow dirt roads that required 4WD a time or two and added an hour or so to our drive time. It was kinda cool driving through a Joshua Tree forest but the last three miles were kinda rough. The directions stopped at a road that we followed to the trailhead. The trailhead is not well marked from that direction and the trail looks like the roads we took that that point, but the turnaround and a "no fires" sign were our clues to start walking. Going to Baker and then taking the paved road most of the way would be a lot better. The dirt road on this route does have a lot of washboards, but it is relatively shorter when compared to Maps' default route. Even though it was a short walk, we did get a little sunburned. Still a good, quick stop and fun to explore for a few minutes.

Visiting the Lava Tube is a worthwhile experience and even though we had a little trouble finding it when we did it was fun exploring underground. The tube is not something that goes on and on. It's maybe 300 feet long overall. The ladder is a step type with hand rails on both sides and easy to tranverse down and up. About 12 steps. Getting into the tube at first is a little rough and there a crawl space (yup got to get on your knees) about 6 feet long but then it open up into a large cavern with several skylights. This is not some place I would bring young kids. Nor would I bring dogs. This is a place you can get hurt if you're not careful. There are no restroom facilities nor water. Cell service is at a bare minimum when it works. Plan accordingly. Plan ahead. Very photographic.
